The summit of Fan Gyhirych is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point & a cairn.

Completing this walk will also take you to the top of Fan Fraith at 668m (2192ft). Fan Fraith is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (119th highest in Wales, 290th highest in England & Wales). Fan Fraith means 'Fraith Beacon' in Welsh and is pronounced 'van-vr-eye-th'.

The summit of Fan Fraith is marked by a small cairn.

You will also reach the summit of Fan Nedd at 663m (2175ft). Fan Nedd is classified as a Welsh Mountain (Hewitt) (93rd highest in Wales, 226th highest in England & Wales)

Fan Nedd is also known as a Welsh Nuttall (124th highest in Wales, 302nd highest in England & Wales) and a Welsh Marilyn (44th highest in Wales, 670th highest in the UK).

Fan Nedd means 'Neath Beacon' in Welsh and is pronounced 'van neth'.

The summit of Fan Nedd is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point & a shelter.

Along the way you will also bag and tick-off:

  • Carreg Cadno at 538m (1765ft). Carreg Cadno is classified as a Welsh Dewey (128th highest in Wales, 226th highest in England & Wales). Carreg Cadno means 'Stone of the Fox' in Welsh and is pronounced 'cah-reg cad-no'.

    The summit of Carreg Cadno is marked by a rocky outcrop..
