This 13¾ mile, Grade 7 (Hard), easy-to-follow, hand-crafted walk, complete with GPS Waypoints, starts at Hethpool in Northumberland & will take you about 7¾ hrs to complete.

The highest point of this walk is The Schil at 601m (1972ft). The Schil is also known as an English Dewey (11th highest in England, 24th in England & Wales)
Completing this walk will also take you to the top of Black Hag (Hethpool) at 549m (1801ft). Black Hag (Hethpool) is also known as an English Dewey (73rd highest in England, 169th in England & Wales)
You will also reach the summit of Birnie Brae at 508m (1667ft). Birnie Brae is also known as an English Dewey (166th highest in England, 385th in England & Wales)

Part of this walk follows a section of The Pennine Way, a 404km (251 miles) linear footpath connecting Edale in Derbyshire, England with Kirk Yetholm in The Borders, Scotland. Part of this walk also follows a section of The St Cuthbert's Way, a 100km (62 miles) linear footpath connecting Melrose Abbey in The Borders, Scotland with Holy Island (Lindisfarne) in Northumberland, England.
