This walk enters the Holcombe Moor Training Area. Information on firing times can be obtained from https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/holcombe-moor-firing-times
Peel Tower is 128ft high & dedicated to Sir Robert Peel who was born in nearby Bury. In 1834 he became British Prime Minister & is credited with abolishing The Corn Laws, introducing Income Tax (at 7%) & laying the foundations for the modern police force (hence the terms 'Peelers' & British 'Bobbies').

The highest point of this walk is Bull Hill (Holcombe Moor) at 418m (1371ft). Bull Hill (Holcombe Moor) is known as an English Bridget. The summit of Bull Hill (Holcombe Moor) is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point.
Completing this walk will also take you to the top of Peel Tower at 356m (1168ft). Peel Tower is known as an English Bridget.
