The highest point of this walk is Moel Famau at 555m (1821ft). Moel Famau is also known as a Welsh Dewey (79th highest in Wales, 141st in England & Wales) and a Welsh Marilyn (66th highest in Wales, 860th highest in the UK). Moel Famau means 'Mother Hill' in Welsh and is pronounced 'moil va-my'.
The summit of Moel Famau is marked by an Ordnance Survey Trig Point. Moel Famau is the highest point in the county of Flintshire.

Part of this walk follows a section of The Offa's Dyke Path, a 287km (178 miles) linear footpath connecting Sedbury Cliffs in Gloucestershire, England with Prestatyn in Denbighshire, Wales.
