Points of Interest/Notes on this walk:
Lady's Cross on White Edge Moor is a medieval wayside & boundary cross which marks an ancient crossroads & the former estate boundary of Beauchief Abbey. The top is inscribed with the letters MB (south side), a small Greek cross (east) & a Latin cross & figures which appear to read IR 1618 (north). On the north face of the socle is a chiselled T-shaped symbol which may represent a nail & have a Christian significance. Lady's Cross is recorded as being in existence in 1263.
