Answer a walking and hiking question

Got an answer to the following Walking/Hiking question?

Walking from High Wycombe to Whitney past Oxford

Is it possible to walk (or run in my case) from High Wycombe to Oxford and then on to Whitney? I've had a look and the A40 seems to have a path up to a point then it runs out. There is also the Oxfordshire Way to consider if possible.
