Walking The Grisedale Horseshoe with a dog

Could anyone please advise me. I am hoping to take my partner walking in the Lakes. I am hoping to do the Grisdale [Grisedale] Horseshoe from Paterdale [Patterdale]. Is this walk suitable for a Golden Retriever? Particularly the decent from Helvellyn using either Swirrel [Swirral] Edge or Striding Edge
