Got an answer to the following Walking/Hiking question?

Why do my feet get wet?

I have a fairly good pair of leather walking boots but however much I apply polish,wax or seal them I always get wet feet when I have been walking in grass for a while.

What do you all do when you need to make your boots last for a week without the facility to dry them out? Am I doing something wrong?
