Ben Nevis In Early November
Q. If I'm planning on hiking Ben Nevis the weekend of November 3/4, what weather conditions should I expect? Will it be full-on winter conditions at this point (die. deep snow on the summit, etc.)? Many thanks, Bart

A. It is pretty difficult to predict what the weather will be like next friday afternoon let alone 3 months in a advance - so I would go with full winter kit including Crampons and Ice Axe and experience using it all. (I was up there on a very very hot day in August but there were still several permanent snow fields - albeit in sheltered spots away from the paths)
Furthermore, in November the days are pretty short - much shorter in Scotland than they are in London - so it unlikely you will be able to complete the walk in daylight - so take a good torch and get some practice walking in the hills in the dark.
