Points of Interest/Notes on this walk:
The Church at Lastingham goes back to about the year AD654, when St Cedd of Lindisfarne founded it as a Celtic monastry. The existing church (St Marys) was begun in the year 1078. It is known for its unique Norman crypt, which probably include parts of the first church built here.
The 'Ana Cross' that you can see out on the moor is a replica. The original is in Lastingham Church.
