I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Wigan hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Greetings!
I'm looking for anyone planning to walk up Helvelyn on Saturday or Scafell Pike on Sunday - either or both vice versa, depending on the weather and wind of course! Currently set to attempt both alone however would much prefer a walking buddy at this time of year! After running my first marathon last month my legs are itching for something big to climb! Currently walking locally with a friend when I can, but have the opportunity for this particular weekend off duty from my three young children, so looking for something of a challenge!
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:
My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;

A bit more about me:
I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure.
I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice.
I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other.
To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Stansted hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, long distance point to point walking is my favourite type of walking although love a weekend in the lakes or similar. Ive just does the wainwrights Coast to Coast, and previously have walked the West Highland Way and the first part of the GR5 in the alps amongst others. I do have a dog and would like to walk a bit more with him as he can do long distances but so far haven't taken him on many trips so he can stay at home if thats a deal breaker. I am going to take a sabbatical from work next year and keen to pack plenty of walking in. Some more of the GR5 next summer is at the top of the list and then the Pembrokeshire way.
I am reasonably fit - happy to walk in all weathers (although wouldn't we all prefer a bit of sunshine and blue skies !) for up to 8 or so hours a day with a pub at the end ideally!

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi my name is Anne. I am in my early 60's looking for walking companions for either day/weekend/week walks. I have just retired and have a desire to do a lot more walking and/or tour the UK. I have recently bought an old campervan due to this crazy COVID world! Which will help to keep myself and others safe. I have walked the White Peak Way 90 miles a couple of times which is a lovely walk and a couple of other (flat) long distance walks. Not so keen on camping, prefer B&B, Youth Hostel or similar, what a wimp! I like to go at a steady plod...... short or longer walks. I also enjoy narrowboating with family and friends. I look forward to hearing from you...

My Message: I've always been interested in hiking up mountains but never gave myself the time for it. I'm wanting to learn to read a map and navigate properly, and put more effort in and build experience so i can tackle the more exposed ridges.
I want build up to walk the west highland way, finished with Nevis, and also the pennine way. Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro is also a target of mine.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cheshire West hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I like nothing more than a day walk, any time of year, whatever the weather. I prefer a more challenging walk but strolls are welcome too. I love being amongst nature, I find it very calming and grounding after a set of shifts.
I'd like to find a fit walking friend who doesn't mind what the weather brings.
I am not looking for a relationship, just a likeminded individual to share some pleasant hikes with.
I enjoy ridge walks and have done the CMD arĂȘte, Crib Goch, Aonach Eagach and lots of the other main ones. Scrambling is a passion too - the Wildboarclough one is my favourite to date. I enjoy Snowdonia, Tryfan, Snowdon, The Glyders etc. I'm happy on flatter walks too - I was brought up in Lincolnshire! I like cycling too, I've a road and mountain bike. I have a car so travelling is no problem.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cheshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Enjoy walking and off to Lakes for a few days on my own and found this site whilst searching for a couple of walks around Coniston and Ambleside. Have moved back to Cheshire recently and thought it might be interesting to find walking companions. Never thought about asking for walking companions.
Currently work in Liverpool during the week with a combination of working from home so tend to walk at night or weekends. Enjoy Cheshire walks and wider Walks in Wales, Lakes, etc and happy for 2-4 hour routes with a bit of variety but don't always want to drive to walk when I'm on my own. Generally expect to be available every other weekend.
Have kept active over lockdown and average around 20 miles a week but still have potential and ambition to lose a few pounds in walking more regularly. Don't really have a bucket list of walks but would be happy to join up and target specific walks or a series of walks.

I am a Walker, in my early 70s, based near High Peak hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I've been walking mostly in the Peak District, where I live, and the Lake District recently. I've been ticking off Wainwrights and have only 8 to go and I've started on the Birketts. I'm a widower and retired so can walk midweek and have mostly been walking alone for a number of years. I'm very fit for my age and like longer mountain walks. I've also walked in France, Spain, Germany, Italy Greece and Turkey. I've even done a bit of sport climbing in the last few years - rock climbing was a passion many years ago. I've also rediscovered an interest in photography and have been a yoga practitioner for more than 30 years. I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Darlington hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I am looking for fellow walkers to share the joys of the great outdoors with followed by a well earned beer or meal! I am fairly fit and for me I like being out being out there in the countryside listening to the birds. seeing the wild flowers, enjoying the views as much as bagging peaks - although this is always an added bonus. I am as happy in the lowlands, in the woods, by the sea as I am navigating my way across highlands and moorland. I am a reasonable navigator and I enjoy exploring off the beaten track. If any of this sounds appealing and you are willing to join me being out there in the wild enjoying the splendour of our countryside. I have my own transport and can walk occasionally mid week or at the weekend to suit.

My Message: Hi
I know nothing about walking/hiking! I am going to be climbing Kilimanjaro with my daughter next year and I want to start walking so that I can train for this trek. I have a new pair of hiking/mountaineering boots, a day pack and the will to learn! I am looking for anyone out there who is willing to walk with me. I'd like to start with a Grade 1 trek and work my way up to Snowdonia and everything in between. I am reasonably fit as I go to the gym with a strict PT 3 times per week. I can walk on Sundays because I work the other 6 days of the week. If you're wiling to take on the teaching of a novice, I'd like to hear from you, please!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Liverpool hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm based in Liverpool (Waterloo/Crosby) and have recently started to do some easy walking to ease myself gently into doing this. With a view to either doing this slightly more often or being able to tackle something a little more ambitious (nothing major though, ultimately it has to be fun).
I have in the past been a member of a rambling group which did some fairly substantial walks around the country but that's a long time ago. I'm now trying to get out and about a bit more and I'm currently working on my walking fitness which is probably around 2-3 hours walking at a reasonable pace. So I would class myself in the grades 2,3,4 at least for the moment (no real expectation to progress much further than 4). My current walking has been local but I do love to travel and I'm handily placed for such as the Lake District. My fitness is reasonable because I try to maintain this for skiing once or twice a year.
I work full time (weekdays) and also volunteer at an animal rescue on Sunday mornings. So I may only be available some Saturdays, maybe Sundays after 2pm, and occasional weekday evenings. Hopefully my occasional availability doesn't put anyone off.
It would be nice to meet like-minded people who like to get out and about whilst enjoying other people's company.
Hope to hear from you.

A bit more about me:
When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it.
With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs.
I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own.
To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Skiing and/or Snowboarding
Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Herefordshire/gloucestershire Border hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Do you crave to get out in the hills? Can you get to the Malvern Hills, the Brecon Beacons and/or Black Mountains?
If so, then I'd love to meet!
I live near Ledbury, about an hour's drive from the Brecons and am looking for some like-minded people to get out and explore with. Sadly, my closest friends live in the north, where I used to live, and Covid has made even occasional walking holidays a challenge, so I'm either walking alone or dragging my (sometimes willing, sometimes not so much) partner out with me.
In terms of fitness levels and navigation - I've never done crampons or climbing, so not ultra-intrepid, but I'm happy enough tackling several Brecon summits in a day with reasonable visibility. I've done Snowdon, Cadair Idris and a fair few of the Lakeland mountains. I'm still learning compass work but quite good at interpreting an OS map.
A bit of general stuff about me: I'm an Aussie by birth but lived here most of my adult life. I work part-time (I'm a web editor for a national health organisation) and could usually meet Tuesdays, Fridays or on the weekend. In terms of hobbies and interests, I've just finished a masters in creative writing and also do some voluntary work with men who have experienced mental health problems. I love bike riding, reading, good films and TV.
Oh and I love dogs but don't own one, so if you bring one on our walks: bonus!!
If any of this sounds like you, please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Preston hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi,
I'm Catherine, 42 from Preston. I have done quite a lot of walking, mainly in the Lakes and North Wales but other areas too.I would like to do more in Scotland. I have also done some treks abroad. I have previously walked a lot with my parents but they are getting past the long and high stuff now. Also I met a great walking partner on here about 10 years ago but she has moved abroad for work! I'm now struggling to get out walking as I don't want to go by myself. I love anything outdoors, pretty much any weather. I love camping and a good pint after a walk. I'm looking for people in 30's/40's who would like to go on day walks to begin with to see how we get on. Anyway, drop me a line if you'd like to make contact and get out walking. Thanks

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Stockport hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello ladies and gents. I am hoping to meet new friends, male or female, to accompany me on walks, long or short, in the wonderful British countryside. I enjoy walking locally, in the Peak District, but also love the Lakes, Dales and parts of Scotland and Wales. My favourite walks will usually involve a stop or two at a cafe or pub for rest and refreshments. I have completed many long distance walks and also run and cycle regularly. If anybody would like to share my company please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking and want people to go walking and to socialise with. If we can get a good weather day and a view, all the better. I'd be happy to meet up with men or women for a day's walk, anytime soon. Also happy to join a group walk. At least it's something we can still do at this time.
I've walked the whole of the SWCP, circuit of the Isle of Wight, the South Downs Way and the Cotswold Way. I love walking in the Lake District and would love to do the Coast to Coast. Am also trying to the Wessex Ridgeway in single day trips from home. But I also love a blow on the Marlborough Downs or just an amble along the canal. Tea or a pub meal at the end is a bonus.
I'm retired and don't have any regular commitments except Wednesday evenings at the moment. I play tennis but don't want to appear super fit, just normal for a walker in her 60's! Am happy to travel to meet up with someone and hope it might be you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cambridgeshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I live in Cambridgeshire and have a deep love for walking and hiking. The last long distance l did was Glen Affic in Scotland. However, l like short walks as much as long hikes and to enjoy my walk, stopping to take in the scenery and enjoying a good chat or just appreciating the silence together.
My schedule is quite free so l can do a mixture of week days and weekends. I also drive, so travelling is no problem.
By nature l am a bubbly, outgoing person with an introvert side. Looking to make some new female walking buddies. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Preston hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Busy training for this years Lakeland Mighty Hike 26 miles around Ullswater followed by the West Highland Way in July. Been hiking in various areas but the lake District is an hour from me and its quite familiar to me. Lockdown shielding compounded everything for months and months on end. None of us know what lies ahead. I'm choosing to live my life the best I can in the great outdoors Anybody fancy the coast to coast next year ?? X

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Doncaster hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I love the outdoors and recently bought all the kit and caboodle to go wild camping but fear crept in and decided not to go alone just yet.. I'll give most things a go and love trying new things. I'd love to find someone to hike and maybe wild camp. I'd not say no to exploring more urban locations too. We've lost so much time this last year, we have lots to catch up with!
