I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Ribchester hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, Lesley here,

As well as day walking I love to combine walking with holidays and adventures, even if it's just a couple of days.

Last year I travelled to Jersey and walked the whole coastal path. Had a wonderful week in Wales walking around the Cadair Idris region. Went to Croatia to swim in the sea, visit nature reserve islands, cycle and walk. Walked the whole of the Camino Primitivo which starts in the Asturias mountains region of Northern Spain, through Galicia and ends in Santiago.
Also quite a few festivals and days camping and hiking in the Lake District.

I'm going back to Jersey this year taking my daughter and 3 yr old grandson. We went to Alpbach in Austria last summer. The only way I can get my family up a mountain is via a ski lift! Great fun though.

I've also planned a week walking on the Greek Island of Evia. So lots of space left for walking adventures as yet.

I've previously walked all the Lake District summits, extensively in Snowdonia and Scotland and in my own neck of the woods, The Forest of Bowland AONB. I potter around here most days when I'm free.

I love being outdoors and although I love sunshine I'll walk in any weather if the mood takes me. I particularly love coast and ridge walking however I can enjoy the peaceful beauty of rivers and woodlands at times.

I'm interested in wildlife and nature, family and friends, art and architecture, philosophy, yoga and music.

I gave up work as an advisory teacher 8 years ago to project manage a full property restoration and self build which is now complete but I doubt I'll ever be finished. I love adding areas! This year it's a gorgeous greenhouse and raised vegetable beds. I've got to grow the 'turnip tops' I lived on when I travelled through Spain on the Camino!

I'm fortunate to have time to explore and adventure.
Love to hear from you.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I lead walks with friends and my local walking group.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Road Cycling

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Shrewsbury, Shropshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi Folks
I've recently rediscovered my love of hiking and camping after years of neglect - one small positive to come out of Covid....I'm looking for some walking buddies to help push, drag and cagole me back to where I was years ago!

I've had to cancel treks to Everest Base Camp twice due to different reasons - fancy trekking in Nepal?

Fairly relaxed about venue although Wales and Peak District closest and no real aspirations apart from EBC sometime. Only relevant hobbies are running (Coach with a running club) and photography. 🙂

Be nice to hear from you.
Best wishes
Glenn

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Exeter hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!
I'm 60 and a self confessed walkaholic! It's really nice to think there are others who share my love of connecting with the natural world in a way that feeds the heart and soul. In recent years, I have done several long distance walks over 2-6 weeks. This is the way I most enjoy walking. It's good to have a destination but the journey and the lovely people you meet along the way are much more important to me. One of the reasons I love long distance walking is having the freedom to walk as long as it's enjoyable and safe rather than feeling I have to reach a particular point on the map each day. I generally walk about 10 miles a day depending on the terrain, and make it possible with a mix of wild and tame camping as well as the odd night in civilisation.
Over the last year, I haven't been for an adventure because I've had a beautiful Ukrainian family living with me. They now have their own home so I'm ready to walk again.🥾 Normally I walk alone and enjoy the peace and stillness that lone walking brings. I'm now beginning to think that it would be sensible to have a buddy to walk with. When I walk alone, I rarely get lost but when walking with friends, we frequently get lost because we're talking so much. :) Therefore I am hoping to find a confident map reader to walk with!
Quite recently I have been widowed and am now looking to embrace life and all the good things it has to offer. I work part time and my hours are flexible making it quite easy to go for a walk. I would love to hear from you if your love of walking in wild places resonates with mine.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Swansea hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm Catherine

I've moved back to Swansea having lived abroad for many years, and would love to meet new walking friends to explore the Gower coast and surrounding areas. I would also love to go to the Isles of Scilly one day and back to France. Walks of around six miles would be my ideal. I love to be in nature and would appreciate walking with someone who would be happy to pause and enjoy the surrounding views and wildlife.

In the summer I love swimming in the sea and would ideally like to meet new swimming companions too.

I am single, quite vivacious and easy to talk to, although I am equally comfortable walking in silence. I'd be happy with a meal and a drink either during or after a walk, and would love to hear from anyone who would like to join me.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bushey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, I'm 64 and widowed. Life is for living and I'm not ready to just sit back in a comfortable armchair having spent a number of years bringing up a young family alone. I'm hoping to make new friends for adventures and challenges,both here in the UK and overseas. I want to grab life for myself and start exploring the great outdoors. I'm fit and love being outdoors in all weathers, either walking or running. There aren't many hills in Hertfordshire so I'm happy to travel, although I'm also interested in more local walks across fields, bridleways and canal footpaths, especially if there is the incentive of coffee and cake. I'm generally a novice walker although have previously walked in the Peak District, Yorkshire, The Lake District and Scotland. My kids say they have the local care home on speed dial so I'm hoping to be rescued.

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Wallasey hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Dave and I live on the Wirral and generally walk in North Wales, the Northern fells (Yorkshire & Cumbria) and Scotland. I completed the Munros a few years ago and am slowly working my way through some other hill lists. I head up to Scotland regularly and am keen on exploring the many Scottish islands.

Happy to do low level walks, but prefer to gain some height for the views and exercise. Fairly fit and like to keep a steady pace, stopping to look at the scenery and wildlife. I do a lot of driving so don't mind traveling to meet up for walks.

Retired so can walk on any day of the week especially if the weather is good,but do spend some time on other hobbies like DIY, cooking and rock climbing.

Good sense of direction and generally can navigate reliably.
Easy going with a sense of humour and enjoy conversation. Like to visit a pub afterwards for a drink. If you are interesting in joining me then please get in touch.

My Message: A bit about me; l'm a widow, single, adventurous, fit and happy.
I enjoy walking anywhere and would like to explore new areas. I have walked some of the SW coastal path and would like to do more of this. Also love walking in the countryside, be it just me and my spaniel, or with friends. It would be lovely to meet new friends to walk with and share conversation, a good yarn or a laugh, maybe a beer or coffee along the way.
Happy also to explore areas further afield, and willing to travel.
I live on the Dorset coast so also enjoy sea dips and kayaking and messing about on/by the water.
I have walked the Camino de Santiago and may return to walk sections again sometime. Open to suggestions for new adventures and fun.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Salisbury hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Al, a male walker hoping to meet a female walking companion. I've been into sport all my life, team sports, the gym, running and now walking. I'm getting back into fitness with jogs/walks in the woods and back in the gym and I would to get back to day long walks in the hills and Dales. I work a 4 day week at the moment but go part time in September '22 so can walk during the week and at weekends. I would like to start with a stroll around town and lunch or whatever and then build up to longer walks but I appreciate that it would take time to build the confidence to walk with a man in the woods or the hills. I'm flexible and more than willing to compromise. Ideally I would like to meet an independent lady who takes an interest in the world around her and is happy to discuss and debate her own opinions. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Burnley hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: A bit about me...
Well, I like to mix up my walks so vary the level, distance and area where I can. I'm not as fit as I used to be but get out as often as I can. I work full time and longer walks are usually saved for weekends but during summer months I'll walk most evenings. I've walked a few long distance routes in this country and explored lots of areas of mainland Spain, Portugal and Majorca. I don't mind walking on my own but do prefer company. I love nature and going out with my camera (a fairly new hobby and still trying to get my head around it).
I enjoy the simple things in life like catching up with friends, chatting over a drink in the pub, a dance or two and meals out. I enjoy all sorts of music, going to live events and theatre. I'm a true believer in laughter being the best medicine - second to that, fresh air and the outdoors.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Leicestershire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a male walker in my early 60s, based in Leicestershire. I am interested in meeting female 55-65 for walks or bike rides. I am reasonably fit and able to do around 10 miles walking. I have a hybrid bike that I use for mainly off road cycling. I live in the East Midlands, have transport, and am willing to travel. I work full time and will be free on Fri, Sat, and Sunday. I like keeping fit and will have a go at other activities outdoors or indoors. I look forward to hearing from you.

My Preferred Walk Areas:

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Merseyside hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I walk between 5 and 12 miles most days locally, but really enjoy a day in The Lakes or Snowdonia. I have little or no experience of the Peak District, but would like to meet someone familar with the area, to show me some beautiful and challenging routes.
I also hanker after camping out whilst attempting more challenging routes, like the coast-to-coast, but have yet to do so.
I visit the gym 3 or 4 times a week and play football each week, so consider myself reasonably fit. I work from home and have extremely flexible hours, so have plenty of freedom to take off at relatively short notice.
I like people with a smile, sense of irony and a compassionate nature. I am happy to be challenged with contrary views and philosophies to my own, but draw the line at devotees of Trump and Farage.

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Derby hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am looking for walking companions. Living close to the Peak district, this is where I do most of my walking. I usually walk around 8_10 miles, but don't mind short walks too and like to take in the scenery, photography playing a big part of my memories. I have visited many walking areas and really enjoyed them, in particular the Long Mynd, Pembroke coast, Lake District, Devon, Dorset and Yorkshire.
At the end of a walk I find nothing to beat a hearty pub meal and a pint. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Peak District hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'd like to meet people to go walking with, and possibly a bit of kayaking and mountain biking. I love walking in the Peak District, Lake District, the South West and am starting to explore Scotland. I've done some kayaking in the South West and would love to explore other coasts, lakes and rivers. I also love sailing. I would especially like to meet someone to share winter walking adventures on snow.

I would like to meet other enthusiastic, outdoorsy, down to earth people who like exploring and who care for the countryside they love so much.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Gillingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Paul and I started walking during the first Covid lockdown to improve my physical health and mental well-being.

I had also hoped it would reduce my waistline, but I like my food too much. Fitness has improved, but weight loss is still a work in progress. I have recently started indoor cycling as well to burn some more calories and wouldn't mind going for a bike ride either.

I've increased my walking distance over time and can now comfortably manage up to 10 miles a day and continuing to increase this further.

I've only walked around Kent so far and would like to walk further afield and see as much of the UK and beyond as possible. I'm self employed so pretty flexible when it comes to when I can walk and I drive, so travelling to meet up for walks is no problem.

I'm up for an adventure or challenge and equally like walking along the coast or in the countryside. Day walks, weekend walks, camping or backpacking are fine by me. Picnic stops to admire the views and visiting places of interest along the way, followed by a nice pub at the end of the day are some of my favourite things. I like most genres of music, have a wicked sense of humour and am very easy going.

If you would like some company on a walk or bike ride, please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rugby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm Andy. Having recently taken early retirement I want to spend as much time as possible walking and exploring our beautiful country (and abroad, when we're allowed!), something I didn't have enough time to do when I was working. I often walk alone, but it would be good to have company sometimes, especially on trips further afield and multiday walks. I go walking midweek (Monday to Thursday) which might fit your schedule if you work shifts or at weekends.

A perfect walk for me is one where you can constantly look around in awe at fantastic scenery, so I tend to gravitate towards hillwalking, mountains and coasts. I am reasonably fit and may walk up to 13 miles in a day, but I always look at the quality of the walk rather than the length, so often walk shorter distances. A perfect walk should also have some food and a couple of beers built in, either during or afterwards (preferably both!)

My day-walking in the past few years has been in the Peak District and The Cotswolds, as they are fairly local to me, but with longer trips to Snowdonia and Scotland. However, I am a confident navigator and am looking forward to exploring other areas of the country. I am a fan of staying in nice pubs with rooms when away from home for a night or two.

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Southampton hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Not ready for old age yet! I miss male company. Sadly my male friends are unwell, not able to go walking.Which is why I'd like to walk with a male friend who, like me, is interested in the state of the world, is curious, can see the funny side of life, who is respectful and considerate of self and others. Who is comfortable with meaningful conversation and silence...and anything in between.
In the past I've walked in Norway and Andalusia....locally in the forest, on beaches, South Downs.

I'm not solely into getting to a destination, love stops to take in my surroundings, maybe with a coffee or small snack?
I'd like to explore Wild places in Uk or elsewhere...maybe camping, wild swimming. Don't rule out a city walk. Locally or further afield. I would like to be guided by someone else's ideas or experiences.
I know about myself that I can get overenthusiastic and overdo it..
so would like to communicate clearly about where we are going and what it entails.
Over the last few years have not done much walking so am building strength and stamina which i Really want to do! Plus very important at my time of life!!!!
I work three days a week with long holidays and a lot of flexibility.
My hobbies are people, the Arts, live music, reading, films (series during lock down!)international, community, nature, acting to save our planet from the mess we've made!
