Timings For 3 Peaks

Hi, A friend and I are hoping to complete the 3 Peak Challenge (starting Sunday 22nd July). Please could you offer some advice what time would be best to start? I know how bad traffic can be so I'm assuming that avoid rush hour around Manchester might be best (I'm certainly no expert so any advice would be great)! I've also been conflicting advice - one person said to avoid Ben Nevis as a night time navigation as it's fairly difficult, but somebody else said Scarfell is the hardest to navigate at night. We want to book B&Bs etc so any advice would be great. Thanks so much. Pat
