Answer a walking and hiking question

Got an answer to the following Walking/Hiking question?

Wide Fitting Walking Boots

I have very wide feet, not just at the toes but basically square down to the heal [heel]. Made more difficult by developing arthritis on big toe joint, etc. I spent a very rainy day around Betws-y-Coed failing to find a pair that fits. At present I have an old and battered pair of Grisport, which shouldn't fit but do. I did buy a pair of Meindl which felt great in the shop but when I walked anymore than a couple of miles became very uncomfortable and caused blisters at the edge of my feet where they were larger than the sole (yes I am an idiot). Any ideas?
