Got an answer to the following Walking/Hiking question?

Lacing Systems for walkers with different width feet

My girlFriend has Size 6 and a half to Size 7 feet. She is keen to start walking with me, but has 1 foot wider than the other. She would only consider shoes, not walking boots. Is there a good walking shoe on the market, that has an adjustable lacing system that will cater for different width feet? A shoe with good ankle support would be favoured. Should we go for a non-waterproof pair, but buy Gore-Tex liners, so that her feet aren't uncomfortably hot in summer and so if we encounter the inevitable mud, she has some protection from deeper puddles ?
