Walking up Snowdon with Kids

We are thinking of taking our two children to Snowdonia in May and we're not sure whether it's suitable for them to walk up Snowdon. We have done this before ourselves, but wondered if anyone has taken their kids, and what paths are recommended.

Their ages are 6 and 11; very active and fit kids.
