Climbing Snowdon In the Dark
Q. I fancy walking up Snowdon to get to the top for sunrise - any advice re route and safety considerations gratefully recieved as it seems most 3 peaks walkers do scafell in the dark?
Paul McIntyre, Southport
A. The route from Llanberis - Walk gw126 Snowdon via The Llanberis Path is probably the easiest to follow by torchlight - but even this can be extremely hazardous for the inexperienced nighttime walker with huge cliffs not far from the path in places.
Get some practice in first - see Navigation Skills - Night Time Navigation or Walking in the Dark for some tips about how to go about walking in the dark.
Hope this helps
