Lake District 4 Peak Challenge
Q. I have just read the responses to questions regarding the above challenge. Does participation in the Challenge have to be with an organised group on a set date, or is it possible to attempt it in a small independent group at any time?
Helen , Bolton
A. You do not need to be part of an organised group to walk The Lake District Challenge Walk, the British Three Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Snowdon & Scafell Pike), The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge (Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan) or the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge (Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough).
Indeed, not only is it is much more rewarding to tackle these walks entirely under your own steam but you will help the local environment by spreading out the foot traffic and cause much less annoyance to the people who have to live in the areas where these challenges exist.
See The Lake District Challenge Walk for more details.
Good luck - hope it goes well
