Snowdon In March
Q. Hello,
My partner and i are hoping to walk to the summit of snowdon in a day on saturday the 7th March.
This website has been helpful to us in choosing our easiest and quickest route.
We are reasonably fit but have not had experience of rambling previously(except when my partner was in the army and walked the Brecon Brecons).
We hope to raise lots of money for comic relief but would like to know if anyone has any warnings or if there should be any reason for us not doing this. Is the weather in March normally OK? Should there be any essential gear we would need to purchase befor we go?. We understand that if it is snowing then it would be unwise to proceed and that a plan B should be put into place.
We would be very grateful for any feed back.
Many thanks,
Lisa Joseph, Brighton
A. Given your lack of experience, lack of equipment and complete lack of winter skills I wouldn't. This year (2009) I would have thought it highly likely there will still be quite a lot of snow on Snowdon in early March - see Walking Mount Snowdon in Winter for more information on the potential hazards.
