Fellow go4awalkers who have already walked, climbed, summited & bagged Scar Crags
James Hughes walked up on June 19th, 2025 [from/via/route] c408 Grisedale Pike & Causey Pike from Braithwaite [weather] Very hot, energy sapping sunny day with odd rumble of thunder without a storm in sight. - Epic round, perhaps a tad too long in the conditions. Hard slog up Grisedale Pike after initial route finding error which involved a double back to get onto the ridge. Greeted by swarm of flies at summit before swift descent to Hobcarton Crag. Jaunt up to Hopegill Head before a bumble down to Coledale Hause. Watched a someone ascend Eel crag up scree & opted for longer route up to col with Grasmoor. Hugged the trig point before the now becoming arduous up & downs over Sail & Scar Crags to Causey Pike. Exhausted, dragged myself up Outerside before a flop down to Barrow Door & last slog up Barrow. All very commendable summits. Slower than snail's pace managed to rejuvenate with an Erdinger at the Royal Oak... Real Ale looked mainstream - think it's a Marston's pub.
Ian Ashton climbed it on June 30th, 2024 [with] Solo - Ì
Geoff Hand bagged it on June 18th, 2024 [from/via/route] Walk C408 Grisedale Pike, Crag Hill, Sail, Scar Craggs & Outerside [with] Tess the Jack Russell [weather] Misty & claggy at first then clearing into a pleasant sunny day. - Left a couple of peaks out as I had already completed them. Richard Fulcher conquered it on September 29th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked in the small quarry car park on the left near the start of the Whinlatter Pass after passing through Braithwaite. The path up to Grisedale Pike leaves from this car park & wends up & around the hills up to the peak - a fairly continuous climb with the craggiest part near the top. From Grisedale we headed across to Hobcarton Crag, veering off to the left down to Coledale Hause & then approached Crag Hill from the back near Wandope Moss. From Crag Hill we worked our way down & across to Sail the along the ridge to Scar Crags & Causey Pike. We reversed from CP & traversed across to the main path at High Moss. I then climbed up Outerside & slipped & slid down the wet rocks to Low Moss (very tricky after rain) & eventually met up with Jen at Barrow Door. I declined Barrow as I'd had enough! One for another day! We returned down the easy path that gently slopes down the side of Barrow. [with] Jen [weather] Sunshine & showers, occasional gusts of wind. - A tiring but rewarding walk.

Scar Crags & Causey Pike). [with] Myself. [weather] Warm & sunny day. A short spell of low cloud around Sail. - A shorter Coledale Round starting at Braithwaite. An accurate route description which was followed. The only deviation was to include Sail on the easy to follow zig - zag path from the col between Sail & Scar Crags. The steep descent from Causey Pike was interesting so easy does it is the best way. Time took 5 & 1/2 hrs.

[weather] Cloudy with light snow showers. - As the ridge from Crag Hill continues along the tops become progressively lower making the descents & re-ascents lesser & lesser.
