Advice On South To North Walk

We are a group of friends who want to walk for Charity from the South coast of England to the borders with Scotland.

Please advise us on the best resource for preparing for this trip.

We are not professional walkers so we need some advice in terms of timings, distances, signposts, key routes and stopovers, etc . . .
