Walking/Hiking Answers: What is the best way to walk up Scafell Pike
Got an answer to the following question?
Hi All
Looking for a little advice and help.
My 8 year old son's best friend has just died from cancer and my son wants to do something to raise money for the people that helped in his finale weeks.
My son asked if he could climb a mountain and as Scafell Pike is the biggest in England he has now decided that he wants to give it a go.
I used to do a lot of walking in my youth and have done Scafell Pike 3 times as well as a number of other peaks in the Lake District so I understand the level of challenge.
What I am after is a route that would suit an adventurous 8 year old with 2 Huskies in tow (he wants to take the dogs).
We are aiming to do this in April so the weather shouldn't be an issue :-).
I have had a look at the following walks c110 c111 c166 c172 c194 c197 c215 c271 c370 c416 c453 c454 - but don't know what would be best.
My son wants a challenge so don't really want a straight up and down. The dogs are big and fit so they shouldn't be an issue.
Thanks in advance
