Lost At The Coconino National Forest In Arizona

Myself and three others got lost at the Coconino National Forest in Arizona thanks to the Garmin Etrex.

After reinstalling batteries, a bogus straight line appeared on the screen (which I didn't see until I switched screens about two hours later) creating a false staring point.

Has anyone had this problem before?

I did clear all tracks prior to removing batteries back in February.

We ended up walking in circles for eight hours.
