Walking/Hiking Answers: Black Toenails with my Walking and Hiking Boots

Black Toenails

I've had my Karrimor boots for over 5 years and done a lot of walking with no foot problems at all. However, had a lovely long bank holiday weekend in Lakes and Yorkshire Dales walking about 30 miles in total recently but came back sporting two very painful big toe nails that have now turned black! Any advice - is it just time for new boots?
