The highest point of this walk is Leith Hill at 295m (968ft). Leith Hill is classified as an English Marilyn (135th highest in England, 1387th highest in the UK). The summit of Leith Hill is marked by a tall tower. At 994m (965ft) Leith Hill is not only the highest point in Surrey but the highest point in South East of England. On a clear day you can see 13 counties as well as St Paul's Cathedral and the English Channel from the top of the tower.

Part of this walk follows a section of The Greensand Way, a 173km (107 miles) linear footpath connecting Haslemere in Surrey, England with Hamstreet in Kent, England.
