Points of Interest/Notes on this walk:
Excavations at Mary Magdalene Well found possible Saxon & 12th/13th century pottery fragments. These are in Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton-le-Hole.
The Church at Lastingham goes back to about the year AD654, when St Cedd of Lindisfarne founded it as a Celtic monastry. The existing church (St Marys) was begun in the year 1078. It is known for its unique Norman crypt, which probably include parts of the first church built here.
