The Afon Rhaeadr-fawr tumbles uninterrupted for 130ft over an outcrop of rock called granophyre (rare in Snowdonia). In Welsh Rhaeadr fawr simply means 'Big Waterfall'.
The Afon Rhaeadr-fawr tumbles uninterrupted for 130ft over an outcrop of rock called granophyre (rare in Snowdonia). In Welsh Rhaeadr-fawr simply means 'Big Waterfall'. While not as impressive as Rhaeadr-fawr, the smaller Rhaeadr-bach waterfall is well worth a visit.
