Points of Interest/Notes on this walk:
The steel and bronze sculpture on Charlie's Moss which resembles an open book is a memorial to poet Hugh MacDiarmid (1892-1978). It was created by Jake Harvey & unveiled in 1985.
The monument on Whita Hill is a 30m (100ft) high obelisk commemorating the life of Sir John Malcolm (1769-1833), a famous soldier, diplomat and scholar who was born at nearby Burnfoot.
