I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near London

My Message: I've always enjoyed walking - but I'm not what you'd call a 'serious walker'. I'm energetic and I can enjoy walking quite fast - or taking a more leisurely stroll. Presently I walk alone, but not far enough or adventurously enough, because my sense of direction and map reading skills are (regrettably) zero. I'd like to learn, though - and especially to share more general thoughts, ideas and reflections about all kinds of things with another walker - exploring your slant on life - and some laughter would be good, too. I'd appreciate advice about things I could buy that would improve my enjoyment of walking (I'm thinking especially of those long, spiked poles that look very impressive and I imagine they're pretty useful, but I don't know how to choose the right ones). Ending a walk at a pub or caf' may be pleasant occasionally; weekends would be good from my viewpoint. So - moving, talking, exchanging ideas and learning: that's what I'd like. Would that be good for you, too?

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.
