I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chesterfield.

My Message: I am looking for a friend to climb Munros in Scotland with. In May I went up and did 4 days with a friend and 9 days on my own, managing 18 munros. This makes 153 so far, but still have got 131 to do. I am not just ticking them off, but have enjoyed every one, even if it was mostly map and compass work on some. the good days are a bonus. Anyone of a simular mind, who would like someone to walk with, please get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from someone. A sense of humour is essential. Joanne or Jo

I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Bolton.

My Message: Looking for a walking buddy? Perhaps we can help each other. My name's John and I'm very keen on walking. I'm 34 and live in Bolton in Lancashire. I have about twenty years' walking experience and am comfortable on various terrains from low-level walks to the mountains of the Lake District and Wales. I am physically fit and can easily walk twelve to fourteen miles per day. Swimming and cycling are two of my other interests. The only difference between you and me is that I cannot see. I am therefore looking for people to walk with who can act as my eyes. Guiding me is very much easier than you might think and I can easily explain to you how to do it, even if you've never guided a blind person before. The main things you need are an open mind and common sense. If you've got those, we should get on great! If you're interested in meeting up for a walk, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Box No: 78372

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Warrington.

My Message: I’m a 40 something male based in Cheshire. I used to walk the fells in my teens but career, life and children intervened for a while. I recently decided to get myself fit - endless weekends of The X Factor, Match of the day, beer and Chinese takeaways took their toll – and I am now in decent shape again. I don’t think I’m ready for the Olympics yet but I can put one foot in front of the other for most of the day and I’m raring to get up the higher fells and some of the big ‘uns in Snowdonia. I’ve had a few outings with friends, wife and family recently but they only want to go out when the sun is cracking the flags, there is a following wind, and the route is all downhill
I’m generally regarded as witty but quiet; intelligent but not a geek; blokish but not hung up on football. My politics are pro liberal and anti racism, but I won’t bore you with it. I’m told I’m clumsy but I have a good sense of direction: This probably means I will fall over at some point, but at least I will fall in the right direction. My main loves are my family, music and the outdoors
If you’re a bloke with a desire to spend the occasional weekend (or rare weekday) on the hills then please contact me and open negotiations.

regards,
Chris

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Bournemouth.

My Message: I'm 42yrs old (single), with time to spare away from work. New to walking in some ways, but equally excited about exploring new spaces and places across the UK with my camera to hand. I would like to make new walking friends across the country, in particular those with an interest in photography. My last walk was to Snowdon from Anglesey, up a couple of routes and back to Anglesey; I really enjoyed it. I’m up for most things when it comes to walking, especially when it comes to meeting new people and enjoy the walk with a smile, and flask of something to warm the cockles along the way.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Taunton.

My Message: Hi, I am 43 (female, single) and live by the Quantock hills in Somerset. I enjoy walking and always intend to be a bit more adventurous and go further afield but would really like someone to walk and talk with. Otherwise I just whimp out! I have kids at home who are old enough to be left for a for a while and I even get the odd weekend free.
I am arty and spend time on my own painting; but that can drive me crazy if I don't get out and see some of the world. I think seeing it at walking pace and being able to have company en route is the best!
I don't mind what age or male or female. (Although I am single and I guess hope springs eternal, this isn't really about that!)
I am keen to see anywhere, I even like walking around cities. Mountains, hills, coast. Lets get going!!

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hi, i am a very fit young unattached 65 year old who has always enjoyed walking. My home is in Bristol but i intend to spend most of the summer in South Devon as i am retired from work. Where i am right now is close to the coast in the South Hams and Dartmoor is close by. So i get to do some great walks most days on my own. A like minded female to accompany me on some walks would be very nice.
I enjoy all walks whether easy, hard, short, long, coastal, moors, hills, mountains (have been up Killimanjaro and the highest peaks in the uk). Walking on the beach is good too as i enjoy swimming if the water is warm enough. Also enjoy cycling and raquet sports.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hi :-) I'm 33 years old and am looking for female walking buddies. I live in the West Midlands.
I have come back from living for 4 years in Austria and miss the hiking that I used to do when I was out there. I'm pretty unfit at the moment but would like to build my fitness back up and lose weight.
I eventually would like to build up to be able to do the Camino de Santiago pilgrim walk in Northern Spain one day.
I'm easy to get on with and love getting to know new people. Would be nice to eventually from a group of female buddies to regularly go walking with.
I'm also up for weekend trips as well.
So, drop me a line if you would like to know more:-)

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne.

My Message: I am slim, fit(ish), fifty(ish), friendly, female (no ish) who is looking for male and female walking friends, for walks of between 7-10 miles, generally at weekends. I live in the North East, so would prefer people from this part of the country for walks in beautiful surroundings either at the coast or in the country. I enjoy walking at a reasonably brisk pace, good company, lively conversation and the prospect of a tasty pub meal and drink to round it off. I am not looking for an endurance test, but do like a bit of a challenge. Particularly hoping to find someone who likes to lead or, at the very least, knows which way to head for home should we get lost as, sadly, I was created without a sense of direction!

I am a Walker, in my mid 20s, based near Wembley.

My Message: Can’t believe I’ve had to join a paying site to find people my own age who like walking!
Originally from Lancashire, I’ve been living in London for nearly 2 years and sometimes feel like it’s squishing the life out of me! I haven’t done much serious walking for a long time but happy to give anything a go and enjoy a challenge and just really want to get back into the countryside and have someone to go with since I find doing these things on my own pretty boring these days. Happy to go anywhere – short one day walks near London or longer weekends away. Would also love to find someone to do some walks with in France eventually. Particularly love coastal walks and would really like to spend some time in Pembrokeshire at some point......

Give me a bell if you’re interested.
Leah

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Skipton.

My Message: Hi I'm looking for a female walking companion for weekend or full weekend walks. I've only been walking for the past 2 years and so far I haven't seriously got lost yet. So far I have only walked in the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Howgills, but I'm willing to be introduced to other areas. Walking on your own can be a bit boring at times and I'm also a bit on the shy side so get in touch. P. S. a drink at the end a must.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near North London.

My Message: Hi, I'm a 33 year old girl living and working in North London, dying to get back on the hills. I haven't done much except work, sleep and go to the pub (sad, I know!) over the last 8 months due to the only one of my friends to share my love of the outdoors deciding to hang up her boots.

I don't really know what level I'm at anymore (hopefully not -5) but about a year ago I did the Roraima in Venezuela with ease, which is the level I'd like to get back to.

I drive, and would be happy to go anywhere at weekends up to a few of hrs out of London fairly regularly, with occasional longer trips.

I'm a pretty easygoing gal, looking for likeminded buddy/buddies to get back out there with and possibly share a drink/meal with in a nice pub at the end of a hard day on the hills.

If I sound like someone you could share your time with, drop me a mail.
