I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Wellington hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Stu, 49, looking for friends to go walking with, and general socialising locally. Although I often walk on my own, it would be nice to meet like minded people who want to have enjoyable times out in the nicer parts of our country. Dartmoor is my favourite walking area locally, also very keen on the coast, The Quantocks, Exmoor, Cornwall. Further afield Snowdonia and Scotland. These are the places I know a bit, also happy to discover new places of course. I also enjoy my little adventures in my camper.
Preferably reasonably local, friendly and relaxed people who enjoy going out for a nice walk. Dogs welcome, distance depending on the terrain, the weather, what we feel like etc.
I'm self employed so can often be flexible.
Looking forward to Hearing from you.....

A bit more about me:
When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it.
I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower.
I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own.
To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average.
I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Road Cycling
- Mountain Biking
Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: White male aged 66, 40 years walking experience, living in Sussex, fit and friendly seeks to meet an adventurous male or woman walking companion aged about 40+ for walking local and national trails together in the UK and in Europe. Any individual willing to explore the hidden and interesting bye ways of Britain, if warm sleep out during the summer and enjoy a few beers at the end of a days challenging walking, before England and Wales become so sanitized it will look like a theme park( see George Monbiot).
Probably suitable for someone living in London or the South-East but, but if practicable, I would not exclude other contacts from around the country. Most important is the love of the countryside, coastal paths and Highlands of Scotland, quiet places and friendly conversation.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:4:5:6:7:8:9:
My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)
A bit more about me:
I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops.
I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice.
Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs.
To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average.
I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
- Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lichfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: 50 year old single, professional female looking for male/female friends to walk with. Not keen on walking in groups - prefer the company of just one or two others. Things just get straggly in groups don't they? I have dogs and am happy to walk with or without them. I also have a 15 year old human and am happy to walk with/without teen humans (mine is often reluctant but might be tempted if we find a like-minded companion). I have had quite a long spell of not walking following both an Achilles then back injury sustained in unrelated unfortunate events, so I'm pleased to be back in my boots! Have car and happy to lift-share or not. Saturdays are often marginally better for me than Sundays but that's not set in stone, or shorter after work walks in lighter evenings. Other interests include travel, cooking, good wine, reading, music (live and local, often folky or indie by preference), cinema. One day I'd like to begin having a go at a long distance walk or two, so if I find a companion who'd be up for that too it would be great - but not a dealbreaker if you only fancy one-day walks.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chester Le Street hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Due to the loss of my long term walking partner I am looking for a like minded person or persons to walk with. I am available any day and have quite a lot of experience in Durham Northumberland and North Yorkshire. I am pretty good at navigating and have a list of walks most of which I have done some I have not. These are usually in the 7-10 mile range with different grades. I like to think I am easy going with a good sense of humour. Not averse to a pint at the end but not essential. I have my own transport. Look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Templecombe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi. I'm a 51 year old female living in Henstridge Somerset and working nearby. I really enjoy walking and the great outdoors and although very happy with my own company it would be great to walk with others sometimes anything up to 20 miles. Although I'm single I'm not looking for anything more than walking companions. I'm pretty ok with map reading and although I own a compass I'm useless with it but would love to learn. Pub visits/lunches etc are always a plus - that's when my pace really quickens! I'm happy to drive anywhere and I'm free most weekends and during the lighter months evenings too. Lisa

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Fareham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I live in Hampshire and would like to meet female walking partners to share walks both locally and other parts of the UK. My favorite walking areas are the south west, Lake District and the Cotswolds.
I work full time, so good walks are limited to weekends and holidays.
As well as walking the dog, I cycle to work and play squash, so I'm reasonably fit. I also enjoy music and reading.
I did the Peninine Way many years ago and the Coast to Coast a couple of years ago. I would like to do the West Highland Way in the next few yearsb but in the meantime I'm heading to Dartmoor and the Lake District for some nice day walking.
I haven't done much walking abroad, but I love walking anywhere with lovely countryside.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Staffordshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi. I am looking at meeting up with people who are keen to go walking. I don't drive and as such, that mostly limits me to the Peak District and the Lake District (and spending a couple of days (overnight in a hostel) is even better due to time constraints of public transport), but otherwise i can go anywhere. I consider myself reasonably fit and have some ability to read a map but it is not perfect! I get to where i want to go. I like challenging and adventurous walking, however it's not important to me that anyone else does; the company is important! I'm not super-experienced in hill-walking either; but i have done some.
Apart from that i am also looking to walk the Pennine Way (in it's entirety), maybe there is someone else interested in that too?

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loch Lomond, Scotland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello, I am interested in sociable walking. I have climbed a few Munros in the past and would like to again but am just happy being outdoors enjoying the sights and sounds. I have a mini dachshund who I like to take with me (most of the time in a backpack!). I live north of Glasgow but am happy to travel for a good walk. I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Heidelberg, Germany hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
My name is Barbara. I'm German and live in Germany. As a translator with English as my working language and an obligation to regularly brush up my English, I am looking for good company on a hiking holiday along the Cornwall coast during which I can enjoy 'serious' exposure to the English language. I am fairly fit but would consider about 10 miles to be a good and not too exhausting distance for a day's hike. As for the time of year, I am planning my holiday around late July, early August. The current idea is to spend about one week walking and then go on visiting friends in UK, but I am flexible on the number of days spent hiking. I am also flexible on the specific stretch of the Cornwall coastline.
About me: I'm in my early fifties and (obviously) like walking. I also run (moderately), practice yoga (passionately), love dogs (had a Labrador myself), have an interest and experience in music (used to sing and play the sax and regularly go to classical concerts including opera and Rock 'n Roll cover bands), I am interested in politics (of course also US/UK politics), history, fine arts, languages, have done somewhat travelling and go for good food and drinks and equally good conversations.
Really looking forward to get a response from out there.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Woodford Green hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am Matt and I live on the outskirts of London on the edge of Essex. I am looking for a walking buddy of any age (preferably female as I enjoy female company- on a platonic basis) as my previous walking partner has moved overseas and I am keen to try and start walking more regularly again.
My friends are either tied up with family or not walkers and while I sometimes enjoy walking alone I also enjoy conversation as well as a good laugh.
I am used to walking coastal walks or rural walks in the home counties and have walked in Buckinghamshire, Essex, Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire but don't have much experience of hills/peaks although am keen to try. I am comfortable walking 12-15 miles and have walked 20 miles on a couple of occasions albeit on flat terrain.
I have an average level of fitness which I want to improve. I am keen to walk in the South East/home counties but could also venture further afield to East Anglia, South West or Midlands (anywhere within 2-3 hrs drive really) as I have a car and enjoy driving. I would be keen to maybe try some longer paths/routes like SWCP or similar but above all else want to have fun and be outdoors with like-minded people.
I work full time in the week so weekends are best although I could take the odd day off from time to time. My other interests include yoga, swimming, reading, art, music and cinema.
If anyone is keen to plan a day out soon then please contact me :)

My Message: Hi
My name is Alex and I have rejoined the site to meet new friends/fellow walkers. I've been a bit idle with regards to 'boots on walking' so need time to pick up the pace a bit! Having said that i'm quite fit, not without humour and don't mind travelling (within reason) to meet up. Packed lunch or pub lunch suits me. My map reading skills are a bit hit and miss but I don't mind being guided. I know there are some lovely people on this site because I met up with 'A' over 5yrs ago and we are still friends so here's to more...

My Message: Hi I am a woman in her late 50s who loves walking but has been unable to for quite a while due to a knee condition. I recently completed my first 6 mile walk so I am really keen to keep up the good work and increase my stamina/distance. I like to enjoy the view and good conversation is a must. My other passions are literature, theatre, art, museums and good food and wine! As I don't drive meet ups would have to be accessible by public transport or we could share petrol costs? My Message: Hi, my name is Dave and I have been walking for about 6 years. I walk locally about 4 times a week and go to the peak district and Snowdonia at weekends whenever possible. I am very fit and active and like to walk in any conditions. I love driving and am happy to travel. I work in the week so weekends would be the best time for an outing. I am looking for an easy going female walking partner to share memorable outdoor experiences with, either day hikes or weekend adventures. I am considered chilled out, good company with a great sense of humour and a wide range of conversation and a very good listener. I look forward to a relaxing meal and a drink at the end of a long day with a special person... maybe this could be you? I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: In 2016 I almost did the John Muir Trail in California but couldn't complete it having fallen badly and damaged a knee. To do the JMT I had to do a lot of training mostly in Wales carrying weight. In 2018, I'm booked to do it again, starting my training shortly. I am looking for a partner(s) to join in some of the training with me who doesn't mind some wild camping and a bit of adventure. Unfortunately, none of my friends have the time to join me. I am experienced with the hills and mountains of the UK having climbed most major peaks in all weathers. Pretty good navigator and I am fit for my age but not a fast walker, more a speedy plodder. I love the outdoors and mountains especially. I mainly walk at weekends as I work but can stretch to long weekends. Just been hiking in the Bavarian Alps - lovely place. Thanks, Andrew

A bit more about me:
When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it.
I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on.
I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other.
I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
- Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Burntwood.
My Message: Hi Ive been a member of this site for sometime and am just returning to it from a long absence.
I particularly enjoy walking and camping in the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons.
I was in the military for a long time so enjoy all levels of gradient and am up for a challenge, most of the time.
I love to take my dogs with me when I walk although the border terrier (Laughing Gravy) is getting a little old now.
I'm out of the UK a lot and so finding friends to walk with can be difficult.
I hope that I can arrange meets with similar minded people for long mountainous walks and strolls.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Alfreton.

My Message: Hi fellow walkers, living in North East Derbyshire gives me easy access to the Peak District and Wales, Northumberland and the Lakes are 3-4 hours away and need a lot more exploration. The closer I am to water, the better. I am happy to walk 10-15miles (and have done 22 by accident, a longer story...), scrambling is not my forte (fear of heights...I know) but standing on top of a hill feels so good. Could you help me with my map reading? I don't get lost, I just find new places in unexpected ways and it may take a bit longer to get back home but those walks turn out to be the best. That's the adventurer in me. This adventurer has a tent in the car just in case, sets off for France without a fixed plan or goes out on the motorbike to see what's round the next corner. Once I sit down I read, write, play Scrabble and enjoy the views over the open countryside from the patio. Outdoors is a good place and I'd love to hear from you if you want to share it. I have joined a couple of walking groups and they are very welcoming but not all walks have to be with a bunch of people. If you want to join me solo or with the bunch please get in touch and let's see where it takes us.
Safe walking, Karen

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Kendal.
My Message: Hi there,
My name is Mark and I live in the south Lake District. I moved here just over 9 years ago from Nottingham after coming on holiday. I fell in love with the hills and the beautiful scenery and wanted to spend the rest of my life here.
I am a very keen walker and have climbed about half of the Wainwrights, Ben Nevis, Snowdon etc and a few in Austria.
I just love the outdoors in almost any weather conditions and I'm quite good at compass/map reading. I have walked alone quite a lot recently due to family issues and I would now like to share the mountains with other like minded people. It would be great to spend a day scaling a high peak then spending an afternoon with good food and good company.
Feel free to get in touch if this sounds good to you.
Thanks.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Chelmsford.

My Message: Hi, This summer I started walking the South West Coast Path (47 miles down, 583 to go!) I thoroughly enjoyed the walking and the beautiful scenery, and I'm hoping to complete a few more miles next year, but I need to develop my hill fitness... not easy to do whilst living in the flat lands of Essex! I'm looking for someone to tackle the hills with and, obviously, I'm going to have to travel, which isn't a problem. I'm not very tall so, despite going at a reasonable pace for me, I'm unable to match the stride length of anyone who prefers to march on at speed. I like to walk and talk, stop to take photos, and to marvel at the incredible views. Are you someone with good map-reading and navigational skills? Would you be happy to walk with me at my pace and understand that I'm actually walking pretty quickly for me? Do you enjoy a chat and a laugh? I work part-time so I'm available from Thursday to Monday and I'm keen to get out there as soon as possible. I love the sunshine and don't mind the cold (I walked in the Peak District in snowy November) but, I'm not so keen on rain - a bit of light drizzle is OK but if it's pouring down... I'd rather find a nice tearoom or pub. If you think you can share some hills with me, please get in touch. I'm also open to walks in counties and National Parks other than those listed. I look forward to hearing from you.
