Followed the ridge route to High Spy & then down to Dalehead Tarn. From the tarn up steep ascent to Dale Head, down & up to Hindscarth & down & up to Robinson. Tricky descent via Blea Crags & easier along High Snab Bank then ver steep down to Low High Snab! Gentle stroll then back to the car. [with] Jen [weather] Mostly gentle winds & a bright but hazy day. Cold on the tops especially when the sun disappeared behind the cloud. A great weather day overall. - Easier to ascend Robinson by the ridge route than to descend.

Returned to Littletown along the back of Robinson [with] Christine Eyes [weather] Cloudy with strong wind & some rain & very wet under foot. Limited views. - Limited views.

Cold northerly wind. - Climbing steeply up Hindscarth Edge there were great birds-eye views of the cliffs of Honister Pass across the valley including the impressive 'via ferrata' which follows the old miners track up the steep incline. It was good to see that the summit cairn on Dale Head has been repaired & returned to its former glory which befits such a stunning view point!

Richard Marchant conquered Dale Head (Newlands) on October 9th, 1988 [from/via/route] We parked at the NT car park at the base of Cat Bells. This walk was basically the Newlands Round although we didn't take in Hindscarth. We started with the ascent of Cat Bells & basically followed the ridge up to High Spy then dipped down before ascending Dale Head. With my Mum being a bit tired we missed Hindscarth out & carried on along the ridge to Robinson & then cut down in to the Newlands valley & worked out way back to the car. Another lovely memory for me. [with] Mum & Dad [weather] A fine day with no wind & wall to wall sunshine - Carried out the Newlands round horseshoe with my Mum & was taken during a weeks holiday in the Lakes with Mum & my Dad although I just went out walking up the mountains with my Mum as my Dad was not fit enough to join us. We stopped at a self catering cottage at Dockray. Probably the last holiday I had away from Dorset with my Mum & Dad,
