Christine Shepherd summited Branstree (Artlecrag Pike) on March 15th, 2009 [from/via/route] Walked from Stockdale using walk c204 'The Longsleddale Horizon' [with] On my own [weather] Fine - Climbed again from Mardale Head using walk c251 on a glorious May day on 24.5.10 Made my third ascent of this peak on 16.7.20 using route 204 again. Finally did walk c204 in sunshine on 24.5.23 Such much easier when you can see the paths & the ground is dry.

Richard Fulcher hiked Branstree (Artlecrag Pike) on May 7th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked in a lay-by near the Mardale Head car park. Set off up to Small Water (coffee) & then gradually up the hill behind the tarn up to Nan Bield. From there we ascended Harter Fell. From the top of Harter Fell we descended to Gatesgarth Pass & then up again (bit of a slog) up to Branstree. From Branstree we walked past the 'monoliths' & on to Selside ( I diverted to look at the 'Pillar'). After Selside we descended in an easterly direction & joined the Old Corpse Road & followed it down to the road by Haweswater. [with] Jen [weather] Fairly still with some cold wind on the tops. Cloud developed but there was no wind. - Some interesting ruined buildings on the way down.
Richard Marchant summited Branstree (Artlecrag Pike) on November 21st, 2021 [from/via/route] I parked the car alongside Haweswater near Rowantreethwaite Beck & took the Old Corpse Road up to High Birkin Knott then headed south west to Selside Pike & carried on along the ridge to Branstree then descended North & West of Hopgill Beck back to the car. [with] By Myself. [weather] Clear Skies frosty morning & a cold northerly wind

Walked around Shipman Knott, Kentmere Pike, Harter Fell sat at Adam Seat then on to Branstree, Tarn Crag & Grey Crag. [with] Vitor [weather] Lovely day, very sunny. Vitor got burnt! My hands got burnt - A fantastic 7hr walk. The first half was a lovely stony clear path. After Haweswater the path disappeared & we had to venture across a bog.

[weather] Sunny with very little breeze making it quite hot for walking. - Artlecrag Pike now has two prominent cairns although I only seem to remember one from my last visit a few years ago? The higher of the two is the original I think. The actual summit of Branstree is marked by an ordnance stone circle & a small cairn. As would be expected for such a flat top views are limited especially towards the rest of Lakeland by the High Street range & Harter Fell.

Nipping across to Harrop pike & down Little Mosedale beck back to car. 11.2 miles recorded. Detour via Swindale Force waterfalls - Best waterfalls in the Lake District! [with] With Mya my faithful Patterdale Terrier. [weather] Weather cloudy with occasional showers with some strong cool winds for August! - Lunch at Brunt Tongue wood in Little Mardale valley.

Colin Egan summited Branstree (Artlecrag Pike) on August 15th, 2016 [from/via/route] Continuation from Tarn Crag, straight descent down to Gatesgarth Pass & then along the track back to Sad Gill [with] My wife Faith [weather] Fine & sunny, quite warm, winds light, especially on the return low level tracks. - Final fell of three today & I think Mr Wainwright was taking a bit of a liberty describing the route from Tarn Crag as a ridge route as the 700 ft ascent from the Mosedale Track did not feel much like a ridge, very steep, very wet underfoot & not a lot of fun. The cairn at the summit is all but non-existent, a common problem on the grassy fell tops.

[with] We took a Spanish boy called Seb who loved it and introduced him to Tunnock's Caramel Wafers. Oviously Marcus was with me. Navigating in extream conditions! [weather] Weather was good at lake side but deteriorated as we climbed. Visibility was about 40 m on the ridge & the wind was blowing hard at times. - Met two miserable walkers at the Shelter who advised us not to go on top but the wind died down by High street.
