The Glen Nevis Youth Hostel had been refurbished & hostellers & staff were fab. Then went on to Skye using bus, returning home on the Sleeper from FW again which broke down - Not a lot of sleep was had.

Crossed the new bridge over the River Nevis right next to the centre. [with] Gayle (wife) [weather] Clear at the bottom & 11 degrees . By 1000ft cloudy & light rain a little wind. Around 3000ft 1ft of snow under foot & needed our crampons on. At the top 30 to 50 mph winds intermittent light snow & fog/mist, 3+ feet of snow every where & around -3 with a wind chill of -11 or more. Phone would not work & fingers to cold out of two pairs of gloves. On way down fog closed in & could see approx 20ft slid down on bottom & used sticks & pack to stop or correct direction. When the snow level stopped wind continued at 30mph & heavy rain to about 2000ft then light rain & wind to approx 800.
