[weather] Beautiful day, broken cloud, cool at times, 10mph wind. - Spotted a Red Squirrel on at the start, lots of swallows on Blencathra! plenty skylarks & then we saw a hare just as we were returning into Mungrisdale. Busy on Blencathra.
Kate Peacock scaled Bannerdale Crags on April 23rd, 2022 [from/via/route] Dropped off near the pub at Mungrisedale to ascend Souther Fell, nice path up. Walked down the front of Blencathra [with] Me & Sheila [weather] No rain. Winds were crazy after Blencathra but we expected that. - We didn't descend as advised off Bowscale Fell as it would have been quite steep & the winds were a distraction. Slightly wrong twice coming down the front of Blencathra instead but we got there
Richard Marchant walked up Bannerdale Crags on March 5th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked at the hamlet of Mungrisdale & then proceeded West along the River Glenderamackin & followed the track south of the The Tongue & up Bannerdale on to the ridge. From here I went North on to Bowscale then South on to Bannerdale Craggs. West on ro Mungrisdale Common & back again & down the valley Southwest following the River Glenderamackin again & veering off up on to Souther Fell & back to the car [with] On my own [weather] Glorious sunny day with blue skies hardly any wind & a frost first thing.

Walked down the valley by the side of the Glenderamackin river past 'The Tongue' & then branched off up to Bannerdale Crags. Followed the path around the crags, stopping to eat whilst admiring the view & then up to Bowscale Fell. From there we took a steep path down to Bowscale Tarn & followed the easy track back to Bowscale & the road back to Mungrisdale. [with] Jen [weather] Fine weather. - Jen found the ascent challenging but easier than it first appeared.

Chatting with two men from carlise doing wainwrights, who like ourselves were not expecting low cloud on Bannerdale Crags. We lost track coming off & ended up hacking our way through the bracken to get to river path. Liked the new bridge & detour due to river flood erosion
