Q. What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that websites provide when you visit them. Your web browser can store store cookies so that the website can read this information during your current visit or the next time you visit.
We are required to explain how we use cookies. This is explained in our Terms & Conditions, which all Account Holders agree to when opening an Account. Please see the 'Privacy' section in the Terms & Conditions.
Cookies are not used to identify you personally but can store store information on activities (e.g. that you've visited a site before or that you've logged on) or on the preferences you've selected.
Q. How go4awalk.com uses cookies
We use cookies to make go4awalk.com convenient to use and to understand how our users are using go4awalk.com so that we can continue to improve it. Cookies on go4awalk.com are used:
- To enable go4awalk.com Account Holders to remain Logged On as they explore the go4awalk.com site.
We use cookies as part of the logon process for our Account Holders. This means that he/she can download our premium information or respond to messages on our Find Friend message board without having to log on for each individual item or response. To do this a cookie stores a session ID that is checked against our database each time you go to a Account Holders/subscribers' only area of the site. It checks whether you are a valid Account Holder/subscriber, and that you are allowed to access the information. - To count the number of unique visitors to the site.
We use cookies to record how many individual unique visitors we have. - To deliver relevant advertising.
Some of the pages on go4awalk.com carry advertising. Some of this advertising is tailored to the individual user and this is known as 'behavioural targeting'. This uses a cookie to gather information about the pages you visit - but does not collect information about who you are.
