I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Ludlow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am looking for male/female walking friends. As I work all week it would mainly be for weekend walking, whether a day walk or an weekend away. If you are local to me then happy to do some evening walks in the week.

I would say I have a good level of fitness, map skills get me by (most of the time!).

I am happy on most terrains in any weather and any area at a pace to enjoy the surroundings. I like doing trails, either as a linear walk or doing in sections and making a circular walk.

In an ideal world it would be good to meet some walk mates to plan some trips for in the UK or overseas(open to ideas).

Would be great to hear from you.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Gill & I am looking for a walking friend.
Don't mind walking solo but prefer to have company & someone to enjoy the views & countryside with
I have a little dog who would come with me, he is good on a walk & like me enjoys a visit to a nice country pub too.
Happy to chat about just about anything,I don't have children but don't mind hearing about other peoples as long as they don't mind me talking about my previous dogs!
Happy to listen as well as talk & don't mind silence for a while either.
Interests are nature, gardening, cooking( although may be a bit rusty now) current affairs;am a bit of a 'Leftie' & I love visiting historic sites & learning new things.
I am fairly quiet by nature but have a sense of humour & enjoy a laugh. Like music & have a wide & what some friends consider bizarre taste. Used to be a keen photographer & happy to pause on a walk for others to take photos, but hate having my own taken!
Am reasonably fit & walk about 5-7 miles a day but can't do really long walks due to a dodgy knee.12 miles would be max now.
Love walking in Scotland/Northumberland/Yorkshire
but would be happy to try other areas,I really like coastal walking.
I am retired so could walk on any day of the week.
Have a car but would prefer to meet new people initially on home turf, some good walking in the area.
At the moment I am looking for a companion to go walking with & possibly on holidays in the UK.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I mix and match my walks, so that can mean anything from a short river stroll to a long distance path,I'm planning to do the Great Glen Way soon(ish). I completed a month long walk in Spain earlier this year but that was quite an unusual one for me.

I also do short trips away walking (or mostly walking) several times a year where I based in one place, again camping. I'm only a couple of hours from the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.

A few years ago I rearranged my life so I now have a lot of flexibility in my life, the chances are that I cam fit in with your schedule.

It's not all walking, and in truth I'm not hyperactive, so I do a some overseas travel which doesn't necessarily include strenuous hikes. Last tear I did a trip to Moroccan Sahara with a vehicle. Recently I booked the cheapest flight that I could find to India and then worked out some approximate travel plans around that.

As you may have noticed, I ticked the box to say that I am looking for walking friends but I would be happy if someone special came along. If you think you might be that someone special' then I'm happy to share a bit more about myself.

I hope to hear from you soon :)

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near North East England hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am looking to do a lot more walking in countryside and coastal routes. I am happy to walk in rain or sunshine, just love being outdoors and exploring new walks or re-treading old ones. I have a soft spot for Yorkshire and have spent many years visiting there but Northumberland can definitely hold its own, I would like to explore Wales and Scotland a bit more, meet new people and am I happy to travel. Do get in touch if you fancy a walk, I can do weekdays or weekends at the minute ( retired) and am interested in wildlife whether it is in my own garden or on walks.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Hull hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Used to spend lots of time walking all the main outdoor areas (living in Manchester there were lots !) and long-distance paths (Pennine Way, Offa's Dyke Path, Southern Upland Way, Cleveland Way, C to C)

Like a lot of people I was initially captivated by the Wainwright guides and am so glad I grew up in an age where there was no internet..less information but more mystique. You didn't often see photos of mountain summits, just line drawings, so there was extra incentive to reach one !

More recently have done more one-day challenge walks like the Shropshire 6 Summits, Malvern Marathon

Had marvellous weeks up in Skye on the Cuillin, the heady days of scrambling up Clach Glas on Bla Bheinn

Go to quite a few gigs and sing in a local community choir.

Studied French at uni

Interested in complementary medicine.

After doing the C to C cycle route in 2018, the first lockdown was a bit of a revelation for me, getting out on the bike every morning and exploring the beautiful byways of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Still predominantly a walker as I find it more sociable, but keen to do more cycling.

Used to be quite a keen peak-bagger but more bothered about quality of walk, points of interest, or anything quirky en-route to just ticking things off these days. Although I do one-day challenge walks from time to time, more often than not I'll just do anything up to 15 miles.

I work freelance but things are quiet at the moment so flexible on times.

I don't drink at all but don't mind if anybody else does, someone has to drive ;) do enjoy my food though, have to keep the engine stoked ;)

Prefer walking in small numbers e.g 1 to 4 rather than in large groups

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Liverpool hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi my name is Lee and I live Liverpool.
I have decided to update this message as I have walked quite a few routes now thanks to a very good mate Tom who I met through the site. For me as much as I love walking but I also love admiring the view, maybe sneak in a little bit of rest while having a rest.
I do have friends but they are really not interested in the idea of walking, not sure why, maybe they're lazy.

The downside is I dont drive so would need to be able to get to the walks via public transport. So if I can get there via a train it's ideal.

If you are interested in helping me out, I am more than happy to pay my way :-)

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Rotherham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people who own boots and wellies and don't mind getting them covered in mud. I am happy to meet people of any age who shared a love of the outdoors and doesn't mind me stopping from time to time to take photographs.

The Peak District is on my doorstep, but have walked in areas including Wales, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, Assynt in Scotland. I have been up Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scafell Pike, but would happily walk there again.

I have done the three peaks in the Yorkshire Dales but over a couple of days.

I work full time in a college, but school holidays and weekends I am free. Evening walks are possible if they are local.

My level of fitness is good and improving, though that is a story to share during a walk.

I am a life member of English Heritage and the National Trust. As such I can visit such places with a guest. I love photography, history, wildlife etc. I would rather not talk about education or computing (Unless its for a good cause).

My walking aims are to look at amazing views, Camp in amazing places including a plot of land I can wild camp on in Scotland, and just enjoy it all.

If you are cold, wet, have been rained on all day and can still smile then anything is possible.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello,

I'm 64, living north of Nottingham and I am now semi retired. I'm lucky enough to now only work about 3 days a week and I want to make the most of my freetime. I'm already pretty active, playing tennis, swimming and, during the summer, watching a great deal of cricket. I recently (April) lost my long term partner/best friend. I'm not looking for anything more than friendship at the moment.

I'm certainly not what could be described as a serious walker. I'm just looking to explore the countryside more and hopefully meet some interesting people along the way. I love going into Derbyshire and it's very convenient for me. However I have no real restrictions on where I'm prepared to go. I have thought about joining a walking group and I may do that in time. I do feel more comfortable in small groups though.

That's enough waffle for now.

Cheers

Tony

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Cheshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Cheshire based male, 67, quite experienced and passionate about the great outdoors. Unfortunately I have now been diagnosed with a heart condition, following a failed Lake District Mountain walk a few years ago! So regrettably, my serious Mountain days are now over!

So, now looking for an enthusiastic walking friend, male or female to join me on great days out locally in flat Cheshire or somewhere similar.

Looking to get fitter and back into things this Summer.

I can pick up anyone locally on route. So if you are interested in sharing a great canal walk, or something similar this year, then please contact me.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bakewell hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Adjusting to the slower rhythm of retirement after a hectic global career focused on marine sciences. Considerate, respectful, centre-left, Europhile and omnivore amongst other things…books and covers! Formerly an avid mountaineer and skier, I've explored some of the Alps, Cascades and our national parks, especially the Peak District. Now a more measured hiker, seeking a good friend and companion to walk life's paths with, wherever they may take us.

Happy to engage in conversation on all manner of topics or simply enjoy quiet times. Apart from local hikes, my last outings were Snowdonia, the Brecons, The Crooners show in Aberdeen and the Fabrique des Lumières Old Dutch Masters in Amsterdam…so would love to hear your suggestions as to where to next.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am passionate about the hills, wild places and like a challenge. I'm easy going and have a soh - semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups, friends or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I am a reasonably fit 'plodder' and hillwalking is my main interest - its always better to share adventures with likeminded others. I moved to the Yorkshire dales five years ago and am enjoying having some great walking on the doorstep. I've walked extensively in Scotland, Lake District, North Wales and Europe. I'm seeking walking buddies who might be interested in doing long distance paths here or abroad and/or hillwalking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Northumberland or Scotland. I'm used to driving to walk locations.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bishop Auckland hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - alongwith a sense of freedom, space and challenge it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week.

I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 for work and to be nearer the hills. I walked the Pennine Way in 1986 and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail and hoped to complete Hadrian's Wall Path 2020 but didn't!!. In June 2021 I completed Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in 11.5hrs for Alzheimer's Society with my brother but I continue to enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club (which I help run) and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.I am soon to retire and look forward to more walking in good company.

My interests are all things musical and 20th Century painting. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2024!! Andy

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Morpeth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm looking to meet up with like-minded people to enjoy walks in the countryside and ideally, bag the odd historical landmark along the way. I'm easy going and up for a laugh. I am working on my fitness levels to increase distances over time and find the reward of a pub at the end of the day the best incentive. I was at the back of the queue when directional abilities were given out and so anyone with a remnant of orienteering skill would be a godsend. Happy to travel further afield to explore other areas … subject to me finding you 😁

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Chesterfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm Mark I enjoy walking and discovering places. I occasionally lead walks for my friends or just enjoy a walk on my own. Most walks end up with a pint or a meal. I'm looking to meet someone who enjoys the scenery and wildlife and enjoys a occasional challenge. I'm currently trying to do all the peaks in the Yorkshire Dales over 2000ft and get a few Wainwrights done but not in any great rush.I also do a bit of mountain biking now and then (no mad off road down hill routes). Look forward to hearing from anyone with similar interests.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Coleshill hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I used to be keen long distance walker, I've walked some of the national trails including the Pennine way and half the south west coast path.... I was out every weekend and most of my holidays. However due to a failed relationship (she said she liked walking but it turned out only to the shops and back!!) I haven't really been walking for 3 years.... I'm looking to get back into walking and would like to find someone who's interested in day walks of 10 to 15 miles with a little drink and a comfy fire at the end of it. maybe, over time, linking the individual walks into long trails.... A great person once said the longest journey begins with a single step

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near East Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
Looking for a walking partner to enjoy the scenery. Love coastal/beach walks but also countryside. It is all about the views and vistas.

Quality not quantity …..I think about 7-10 miles is my limit for a day's walking.

A good walk and chat would be nice. Can do during the week as well as weekends.

Would like to do more hill walking as I live in a very flat area!

Main aim is to keep fit and get out into the fresh air.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Machynlleth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Now retired but still walking. I live in mid Wales just off the coast. Surrounded by hills, big and small. Planning to walk part of the Welsh coastal path for two weeks next April. Have done a lot of different walks in many countries. Don't mind where or when,rain or shine. If I can get there, I'm up for it. Getting a bit bored of talking to myself so a walking partner now and then would be nice.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm semi retired and live near Lincoln. I love the outdoors and love to spend my time walking, running and even gardening. Anything to be outside. I do most of my walking in the Peak District and some on the Lincolnshire Wolds. Im always happy to explore and have previously walked in the Lakes, Wales and Scotland.
My partner is not really interested in my love of walking and not that keen on the great outdoors. I do a lot of walking on my own but would enjoy some company, ideally someone who loves being outdoors like me and who doesn't mind a bit of weather. My work pattern varies so I can be free mid week and weekends too.
I've started to tick off the Wainwrights (34 so far this year) and I'm now the proud owner of a camper van and hope to venture further afield.
I'd also like to do a few wild camps.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Darlington hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Annette and I'm looking for a new walking friend. I prefer not to walk in a group.
I'm in my mid 60's and I've loved walking all my life. For me it's not about how many miles I've done or how high I've climbed, it's simply being out there enjoying the surroundings and feeling free and happy.
Due to a change on my personal circumstances I find myself walking alone quite often, but sharing the day with someone else us much nicer.
Anyway, thanks for reading this and I hope someone will get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Brierfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 62 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded female companion or any groups. I'm based in Brierfield near Burnley but, as a part time Sports Coach and Squash addict, I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... I won't use anything in evidence against you!!
