I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Cottingham.

My Message: Just finding my legs again as I have the time to walk once again. But really its no fun out by yourself, its much nicer to appreciate a view with a companion. Of course the most enjoyable way to end a day, is with a drink and good meal in a cosy hillside pub.
Really enjoy NYM, the Dales and Lakes, but would like to explore other Northern areas too. Quite like the idea of doing the Wainwrights. Eventually I'd like to work up to doing the C2C or other long distance path.
I work away from home, so when I am home, I'm home 24/7, so am available mid week or weekends.
So can I interest any one in a walk or hike?

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Tiverton.

My Message: Hi, I am a 44 year old female living in Devon looking for walking friends of a similar age/ outlook. I have a plan to complete the whole South West Coast Path in sections, even if it takes years, and it would be great to have a companion or two to share it with. Even better would be a man who also loves the countryside, weekends away in other areas, country fairs, country pubs, farmer's markets etc. and hates loud town pubs, cigarette smoke and busy cities (although a short visit for the art and theatre is always nice!). I have a passion for books and the occasional glass of wine and a strong dislike of bigotry, aggression and football. I love the South West, favourite walking area Dartmoor but I would love to see more of our beautiful country. This is getting too long now so I'll stop rambling on!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Grantown-on Spey.

My Message: Hello'
I'm a 48 yr old fairly quiet and easygoing male, married with 2 youngish kids and living in the Cairngorms. Would like some keen but laid back male or female hillgoing company which doesn't ask repeately 'how far is it to go now'! (though chocolate rewards could be provided on hilltops).
Been hillwalking/climbing for 30+ yrs with increasingly creaky joints but still really enjoy longer hillwalks/scrambling/bothying/camping in Scotland. Also try and get to Europe for a couple of weeks each year- like trips to the Slovenian Alps and Pyrenees last year.
Being 'robbed' of my wife as an hill partner, shes a runner now and i mainly walk solo but i'd love to develop other friendships to plan and share good times, humour and scenery be it on hills /Hebridean islands/backpacking or perhaps via ferratas/easyish climbing.
Self employed and can take time away midweek-family permitting.
Be great to hear from you..

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Huddersfield.

My Message: Bored housewife, I am 40 years old and need to get out walking more often. Looking for other mums or dads to go for walks around West Yorkshire at first, then hopefully to go further afield, Coast to Coast, West Highland Way, Pennine Way etc. Need to work around school times when my husband is away, but flexible when he is home. After 3 children I badly need to get back into shape. I have my labrador also, so anyone with friendly dogs would be great. Happy to drive to meet up with someone, and will walk in all weathers.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Shipley.

My Message: 47 year old male. Born and Bred in West Yorkshire, wild and wacky sense of humour would love to meet a slightly younger lady with a view to walking the Penine Way together, when i was younger i did the three peaks in Yorkshire, but now am totally out of practice and need a wild person to knock me back into shape, i love camping, but subject to weather conditions, and time of year to plan things, camping is debatable, i really want to do the Penine Way and a friendly female for company and the odd pint of fine beer/ale at the end of a long days' stroll would seem idealic, i'm a mere male and need some tuition on ordnance survey map reading ( my memory is fading), anyone up for it at your convenience, i dont work so i can manage it any time but we are not all alike.
Thanks
Ray

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Haddington.

My Message: I'm a fit 50 year-old female who recently took up climbing munros and corbetts. I'm looking for hill-walking friends to share in the experience of the Scottish mountains as I'd prefer not to walk alone. I'm still a bit of a novice at navigation but am getting better with every walk I do. I'm Lothian-based so used to the long drives to reach the mountains. I work part-time so both mid-week and weekend walks a possibility. If you're interested in joining me in some new adventures please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Aboyne.

My Message: Well tired of walking on my own. Like another to take deep breaths with. I am 46, fit, sane and used to regular walks weekly for exercise and then longer ones weekends and hols. Been to lakes/Applecross/skye this year and have done a couple long distance West Highland Way. Like to have a walking companion. Confess to no tech navigational skills but up/round Loch Callater and Kander yesterday and Mt Keen on Friday so anyone in the area interested in doing the compass in a mist I can follow. I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near South Shields.

My Message: Hi all,
I'm a keen walker, early fifties, single, who enjoys good company on the hills and the reward of a pub meal or a tea shop visit at the end of the ramble. I enjoy regular fellwalks in the Lake District, coastal yomps in Northumberland and the occasional visit to the North York Moors and Scotland. Looking for like minded female walkers with a gsoh, a spare flask (mine keeps breaking) and with the capability to switch off, enjoy the views - and tolerate the occasional dodgy navigational faux pas! Spare compass and torch essential. Extra sandwiches optional.

My Message: Hi, I'm female aged 30 living on Dartmoor. I have fabulous friends who unfortunately don't share my love for the outdoors so here I am looking for some like minded people so I can get out more. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Sheffield.

My Message: I am specially looking for a female companion of any age who likes to walk and talk. I love good laugh. I am interested in most things and my hobbies are mostly of the all round active healthy kind, body and mind. My philosophy is 'give and take' and 'it takes two'.
Also, in school term time I like to walk weekdays between 9 and 3 preferably and not too far away from here in Sheffield i. e. Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire mostly, but not exclusively.
I work from home, mostly on the pc, so my hours are very flexible, and I am happy to have an IM chat on MSN or Yahoo or similar to get to know each other a bit first.
I look forward to hearing from you, talking to you, and hopefully 'going for a walk' together!
My laptop (and mobile phone) go with me everywhere so I check for replies wherever I am.
Matt

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Gravesend.

My Message: Hi There,

I am a 41 yr old male who has been very active all his life.

More recently, I have developed more of a love for the great outdoors, and love walking and mountain biking.

Compared to some of you out there I may appear a bit of a novice, in terms of experience anyway, but believe me, I know my limitations and love to push myself beyond them, so I am up for anything you are.

As the only people I know who do this sort of thing are a few work colleagues, who I dont want to spend all my time with, I am looking for like minded adults of a similar age group to do things with.

If this sounds like you, then contact me and we can go from there.

I am in the South East but will gladly travel

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chesterfield.

My Message: I am looking for a friend to climb Munros in Scotland with. In May I went up and did 4 days with a friend and 9 days on my own, managing 18 munros. This makes 153 so far, but still have got 131 to do. I am not just ticking them off, but have enjoyed every one, even if it was mostly map and compass work on some. the good days are a bonus. Anyone of a simular mind, who would like someone to walk with, please get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from someone. A sense of humour is essential. Joanne or Jo

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Bolton.

My Message: Looking for a walking buddy? Perhaps we can help each other. My name's John and I'm very keen on walking. I'm 34 and live in Bolton in Lancashire. I have about twenty years' walking experience and am comfortable on various terrains from low-level walks to the mountains of the Lake District and Wales. I am physically fit and can easily walk twelve to fourteen miles per day. Swimming and cycling are two of my other interests. The only difference between you and me is that I cannot see. I am therefore looking for people to walk with who can act as my eyes. Guiding me is very much easier than you might think and I can easily explain to you how to do it, even if you've never guided a blind person before. The main things you need are an open mind and common sense. If you've got those, we should get on great! If you're interested in meeting up for a walk, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Box No: 78372

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Warrington.

My Message: I’m a 40 something male based in Cheshire. I used to walk the fells in my teens but career, life and children intervened for a while. I recently decided to get myself fit - endless weekends of The X Factor, Match of the day, beer and Chinese takeaways took their toll – and I am now in decent shape again. I don’t think I’m ready for the Olympics yet but I can put one foot in front of the other for most of the day and I’m raring to get up the higher fells and some of the big ‘uns in Snowdonia. I’ve had a few outings with friends, wife and family recently but they only want to go out when the sun is cracking the flags, there is a following wind, and the route is all downhill
I’m generally regarded as witty but quiet; intelligent but not a geek; blokish but not hung up on football. My politics are pro liberal and anti racism, but I won’t bore you with it. I’m told I’m clumsy but I have a good sense of direction: This probably means I will fall over at some point, but at least I will fall in the right direction. My main loves are my family, music and the outdoors
If you’re a bloke with a desire to spend the occasional weekend (or rare weekday) on the hills then please contact me and open negotiations.

regards,
Chris
