I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Shipley.

My Message: Male 57 with gsoh lives in Shipley West Yorkshire just retired (wife continues to work and is happy to do so!) looking for either local men or women or groups to walk with midweek. I love walking and whilst working used it to de-stress at weekends but am now able to enjoy the beauty of the countryside all week! I am happy to walk alone but prefer walking with old or new friends. Have been enjoying walking for 10 years and prefer medium walks (10 to 15 miles) but happy to go for longer or shorter walks. Not into camping though - I now like my creature comforts.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Dollar.

My Message: Hi, I am new to hillwalking but very keen, my husband won't come with me and I don't fancy going alone so would love a walking partner. I don't mind age or sex but would just like somebody easygoing and relaxed to keep me company. I work full time but as I am self employed I can book days off anytime although midweek would suit best. I live in clackmannanshire so somebody nearby would be good.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Langport.

My Message: Hi, I've just joined go4awalk as I would like to share exploring walking in areas further afield than Somerset, where I live. I am an experienced walker, mostly 4-10 mile walks in areas like the Quantocks and Mendips and enjoy planning and reading maps. My compass skills are minimal but I would like to improve on this as I lead groups of walkers from time to time. Walking in more adventerous areas than Somerset appeals to me now and I'd like to share this with other walkers as my friends are not always able to join me. I have walked in the Atlas Mountains and foothills of the Pyrenees, as well as Scotland and Wales - but not often enough! I work in a local college so it's more often only weekends when I can walk.
My interests include photography, reading (I have an degree in English), people, good food, the environment, the arts and much more. If I'm honest politics (or politicians) bore me stiff, but human rights and the human experience fascinate me.
I enjoy ending a walk with a cream tea or pub, but don't make a habit of either.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Carlisle.

My Message: Hi there, I would love to find new friends to go walking with. I live in North Cumbria so am well-placed for the Lakes and I walk there every weekend in a group; but it would be great to meet males or females who would like to explore more of the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales on an occasional basis and maybe be interested in weekends in Snowdonia. I like youth hostels, camping and am reasonable with map and compass (some awesome mistakes, some strokes of genius, generally not too bad. ) I do like to walk at a reasonable pace.
Look forward to hearing from you and all enjoy your walking.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Balsall Common.

My Message: Hi I've just hit 50 - gulp - and am climbing Kilimanjaro next year. Want to get plenty of hill walking in. I teach fitness and like challenging walks - with a good old gossip along the way. Easy going, and fun. I am Midlands based close to all of the main motorways so can head in any direction. Would like to do Snowdon around Xmas time. Don't mind rain, hail wind or snow - want to test out my new high altitude kit! Can do weekends away - so consecutive days walking are welcome - need to get in training. Happy to walk in couples or a group. I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Aberdeen.

My Message: Hello

I have become fairly passionate about walking since I took it up 4 years ago and am hoping to climb some Munros next year, having tackled Ben Macdui and Braeriach recently - not to 'bag' them but to find unknown areas of Scotland (despite being Scottish born and bred!). Also would like to do the 'haute' route and G10 in Europe now the family are independant.
My pace is moderate as I like to look about, but steady, have recently come back from trekking in Peru which was a great experience. Planning on being free from work Fridays into Saturdays. Am a novice but enthusiastic map reader who has very basic sat nav skills.
Although I am a member of a walking group, it is good to walk/chat to a companion. Look forward to hearing
from any like minded folk.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Southampton.

My Message: Hi, I really enjoy walking but am generally too enthusiastic for most of my friends. I would like to meet a like minded walker to move me out of my comfort zone and support me to improve my fitness through regular, active walks (preferably involving a hill or two!) Biggest problem is that I live in Hampshire and obviously need to drive further afield to encounter any real altitude! Dorset coast is fabulous and only an hour away as indeed are the South Downs. Am interested in exploring further afield but would like opportunity to meet like-minded souls. I have been a walker off and on most of my life but would really love to move up a gear or two. If you think we might hit it off, would be great to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Great Ayton.

My Message: Hi All. Thank you for taking the time to read my message. Just recently put my walking boots back on and rediscovered the hills, coast and fresh air. I have a fantastic 4 legged companion but she rarely gives me good conversation, so, im looking for male and female company, long walks are really for my weekends as work takes up my Mon - Frid, but miles in the car are simply time listening to music, so will happily go anywhere to meet, walk and talk. Drop me a line, and in the mean time, happy hiking :-) x

My Message: I've been walking, caving, climbing, cycling and generally enjoying the lakes and dales all my life. I'm looking for some new friends to share it all with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Helensburgh.

My Message: Hi, I am a newly single female living close to Loch Lomond and have recently started walking. Its difficult being too adventurous on your own so I am looking for a male of similar age to enjoy the walks. It would be good if he was a more experienced walker as I would like to go further afield- even down to the Lakes as I believe it is beautiful there although I live on the edge of beautiful walking country. I just love being outdoors, for the smells, views and of course the glass of wine at the end ! I am happy to travel.
