I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Glasgow.

My Message: Hi.
I always tell folks that I don't have a tick list of Munros, but..... I enjoy walking in the hills, Scotland and Lakes, and really like finding new places - hence the Munros. Honestly.
Happy to walk in all weathers; after all, if you aren't out there and the sun comes out, you have only yourself to blame. Summer, winter, autumn, spring, all seasons.
My walking companion has had to take things easier, doctor's orders, so I am looking for someone who isn't going to sprint up the hills, but rather take time to enjoy, and to explore. We'll soon know if we match for speed. Weekends are best for me.
Hope to hear from you.
D

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Penistone.

My Message: Hi, My daughter introduced me to walking last year as part of her training for th DOE gold award and I now have the bug. Unfortunately her time is limited due to studying for her A levels and she will be off to university shortly leaving me without a walking companion. I am married but with a non walking partner so hence I am on here looking to team up with someone (m/f group age not important) to walk with maybe a couple of weekends a month(weather permitting, not really a wet weather walker, yet). have had a taste of Snowdon and enjoyed it so much went back the week after for a second dose. Like to do 7 or 8 mile challenging walks, but not averse to gentler walks. I am reasonably fit but want to walk to improve fitness as well as pleasure. Based in South Yorkshire, but have car will travel. love to chat whilst walking

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hello Everyone,
I’ll be moving to south Devon next Spring to semi-retire, walk more, make friends, discover new hobbies and generally enjoy myself. So I am planning ahead and hoping meantime to make contact with folk (M/F/groups) who like walking the Coastal path/Dartmoor/anywhere else beautiful (so much choice down there!). I currently visit Devon regularly (to walk and to see towns/villages I think I might want to live in) so please let me know if you’d like to meet up to share a walk and a chat. I can navigate reasonably well, am fit (but like to pause now and again to appreciate just being where I am) and I enjoy good company.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Stourbridge.

My Message: Moved to Stourbridge approx 1 yr ago. Looking for fellow walkers in the area - or further afield. Enjoy walking but haven't done a great deal this past year. I tend to let other people read maps and take care of the serious stuff! Have own transport.
Thought that I would post a message to see if there is anyone (or group of people) out there who would be interested in meeting up for a walk in the Malverns. Maybe from St Anne's to British Camp. Stopping off for lunch/drink. Not too rigid. An opportunity to meet fellow walkers, (and potential regular walking partners) enjoy the fabulous countryside, exercise and socialize......

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cambridge.

My Message: Hello

I’m a 55 year old straight female living on the northern edge of Cambridge. So far I have only tackled fairly short walks as it’s not much fun on your own. It would be nice to get together with other not too serious walkers in my neck of the woods to get out into the countryside for some “moderate” walking. I am a dog lover so would welcome them too!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Cumbria.

My Message: Hi, I am a fairly fit 59 year old female who is based in West Cumbria and has walked extensively in the Lake District over the last 6 years when I moved here. Having recently retired and with extra time of my hands I would now like to walk in more of the UK. Unfortunately my husband hates walking and has no desire to accompany me on my travels so it would be good to meet up with anyone who enjoys walking as much as I do. I have a car and am quite happy to drive pretty much anywhere!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Leicester..

My Message: Hello, don't let the first part of my message put off any novice walkers or anybody who would just like a stroll in the countryside. I spent 15 years in the army so am used to walking, I did a Arctic survival course with the Royal Norwegian Air Force, a sea survival course with the German Air Force and a jungle survival course with the SAS so I know my way around a map and compass BUT I have recently had to retire due to ill heath. I have been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, to me and you that means the part of my heart that pumps out the oxygenated blood is only working at 27% capacity so I have to be very careful what I do. I'm up to 3-5 miles walking a day now but always take thing nice and steady, my walking area is East Leicestershire at the moment but I would like to go further afield if anybody would like to show me their area. I have recently rejoined the YHA so can stop over night if there is a hostel in your area. As I'm now retired I can walk week days as well as weekends. I feel it is only fair to let people know of my limitation but please don't let that put you off...... I'm not dead YET!!!!!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 20s, based near Leeds.

My Message: Hi, I'm 29, male, living in Leeds. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who enjoys moderate to hard walking/scrambling, in anything from bright sunshine to heavy rain. I'm available most weekends and can do day walks or even bring my tent for two-day trips. I can get to the Lake District (I've made some in-roads into counting off the Wainwrights!), Yorkshire Dales and Peak District (possibly Snowdonia at a push). I've done a reasonable amount of walking before but am no expert. I completed the National Three Peaks in May, but haven't been out since (so might need to begin with something that isn't too intense!). I'm easy-going and friendly, and looking to walk with any individual/small group with a similarly relaxed but enthusiastic about seeing the outdoors!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Carlisle.

My Message: Easy going professional female looking for company to continue walking the Lake District fells. I love walking and am out just about every weekend. I have enjoyed the freedom and challenge of walking alone for some years now but would like someone (male) possibly with similar interests; definitely a sense of humour; amiable, relaxed and time to take in the view. I walk between 5 and 12 miles depending on the weather and inclination. The fells I have walked so far range from the lowest to the highest. Proud to admit I am counting and ticking off the Wainwrights -173 so far. Non –smoker and drink the odd glass of wine. P. S. I am not the best at using a compass but can plan a route, use a map and always find my way back to the car!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Stafford.

My Message: Hi there... recently on the comeback trail following a foot operation and my dog is pestering me to get on the hills!

Ideally looking for like minded people with two leg - M or F - map reading not essential - I have the routes and I'm a dab-hand with the GPS!

Saturdays are best - although the off weekend trip is feasible - if you have a dog I know of a great place to stay in Kendal - and the world's greatest bar!!!!

Interested?
