I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Taunton.

My Message: Hi, I'm Chris a single male who walks mostly around the South West. Quantocks, Exmoor and Dartmoor being favourites with a trip to Lake District most every year. I am looking to try new and familiar ventures ideally with a friendly female companion. I am active with a walking based youth group and get lots of male company this time of year whilst training but miss female banter. I am reasonably fit and well behaved and can do a good impression of a dog panting whilst slogging up hills laden with kit. I'm happy walking with dogs but don't have one myself. Navigation is good but happy to share. I like gentle strolls with coffee or a pub in mind to hiking with overnight gear.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Leeds.

My Message: Hi! New to this, as have now got a puppy/dog which requires plenty of exercise. Looking to find someone who is happy to join me for some walks in the country and who is happy to let my 8 month old Border Collie tag along. As of yet we have only done pretty short walks due to my dogs age, but now she would benefit for some longer walks. Anyone who would like a few miles walk on either a Saturday or Friday please get in touch!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Oswestry.

My Message: Hi I'm Malcolm and I'm looking for a female companion for hill and mountain walks and other outdoor activities
I enjoy dabbling at all sorts of outdoor things - mountains, skiing, sailing, canoeing, etc but master of none!

Some activities restricted due to a prolapsed disc a few years ago that niggles away - but still like having a go at most things - even if it may hurt the next day!

Have done quite a lot in Wales and the Lakes, and some in Scotland and abroad in the past – Europe, Malaysia and Nepal
Completed all the Nuttall’s 2000ft mtns last year - not in one go! - although I’m not a serial peak bagger but it’s taken me to different areas of England and Wales
I'm interested in historic sites like forts, castles and industrial remains, and basic geology.

I organize a group of friends for local evening walks in north-west Shropshire twice a week through the summer and occasional weekend activities, and get pleasure from helping friends try new things and getting enjoyment
It can be fun doing things on your own but it can be more fun when you do them with others! Think this is true of trips and activities but also of the everyday things in life.
Have been a bit manic with work over autumn and winter and not got out much so bit unfit.
Wanting to get back out and enjoy the hills - but would like some company to share them with.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Forest Of Dean.

My Message: COMPANION SOUGHT FOR YOUNG-MINDED 52YR OLD TO GET HER WALKING AGAIN!

I used to walk a lot but life and study got in the way, so I've lost my fitness and developed a niggling hip. Going up-hill is good though long descents on steep, mountainous ground can be tricky. Flat ground is uncomfortable to walk for long periods. Overall, could probably do 5 miles to begin with and build up to longer walks.

I still have good stamina, and still love being outdoors, but walking by myself has lost much of the appeal and enjoyment it used to have.

I am fairly familiar with the Black Mountains and Llangattock Hillside, having lived in Crickhowell and walking one or the other daily. I once knew the Garth and Rudry (N Cardiff). I've walked Pen-Y-Fan and Snowden too (well, OK, I walked down Snowden!). Have really only walked in South Wales so am open to new walks, preferably circular ones.

I live on the edge the Forest of Dean now, (near Ross-on-Wye) but find the tracks better for cycling. Company in this would be nice too, especially some help to develop stamina and mb skills for other cycling routes. Cycling is kinder to my hip and great fun too. I have a good bike but I'm out of practice.

I am at a cross roads in life - my son has fledged and, after 25 years as a self-employed French polisher, I'm trying to change career. All of which appears to mean adopting a new outlook on life too, so meeting new people with new points of view would be welcomed.

I consider myself to be a young 52 yr old – not quite a Tigger but certainly not an Eyeore! I enjoy conversation, camping, silence, philosophy, nature, a beer, jam on my scones, being wow-ed and a jolly good laugh. If this resonates with you and if you are patient and without ulterior motive, I’d be really happy to know about it.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Bradford(west Yorks).

My Message: Hi, used to be a keen walker up until a year ago. I want to put on my boots and get back out there, have done plenty of walking in the Yorkshire Dales/Lake District. I am pretty fit and attend a gym regularly. My limit at the mo is about 15 miles but shorter distances are ok. I would like to do the 3 peaks challenge(Yorks) in time. I have walked a lot on my own, but its much more enjoyable with other people.... fair weather or not i don't mind. Don't mind having a quiet drink, in a quiet pub on the way either. Work full time but usually free at weekends.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cheltenham.

My Message: I'm looking for a single, male walking companion who ultimately is interested in walking around the coast of Britain in one hit - probably starting early 2013! If that goes well, a walk to Spain?! Before then would love to meet up for shorter walks, not restricted to the list but as I live in Cheltenham it's a start. I've done a lot of independent backpacking and have many interests, like to keep fit and have a good sense of humour.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Chorley.

My Message: Hi
I'm i guess a keen walker, did the Pennine Way last August, which was amazing, looking to do something similar this summer too.
I Spend much of my walking time in the lakes, dales, or peaks or snowdonia, but really want to take a couple of weekends in scotland to experience some of the walking on offer up there.
I like a little bit of scrambling and would like to develop this. I've done strinding and sharp edge and loved them both (sharp i found a bit more exposed at one point!)
I have also some wild camping which i really want to do some more of, i think it would be more fun with company mind you!
I pretty limited to weekends, evenings i guess and friday afternoons. Drop me a line with your ideas, I'm thinking of the Ravenber Way this summer, 200 miles from Ravensglass to Berwick, not as far as the Pennine Way this time, fancy joining me?!

Mark

I am a Female Walker, in my early 30s, based near Woodbridge.

My Message: Hi all. I'm 33, female, healthy and reasonably fit.
Unfortunately for me, trying to get my friends to pull on a pair of boots and climb a hill is falling on deaf ears. So here i am. I used to wild camp and walk all over dartmoor as a kid. I like to wander off the beaten track and not fussed by the weather. Always up for a challenge. I would prefer to walk with experienced walkers of any age/ sex. So if you'd like some company on your next outing, please feel free to contact me.
Many thanks
Nina

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Broughton Astley.

My Message: Hi, my name is Julie and I am looking to meet other walkers who are interested in walking locally and possible the Peak District. I would love to go hiking in other areas but for the moment I couldn't afford it. Being self employed in IT is hard to find work.

My level of fitness is OK but could be a lot better. I intend to take my dog with me, she is a 13 month Retriever and loves to walk, we do 2 or 3 miles most days. I believe up to 10 miles to start with is nothing I can't handle.

I use to hike in most of the national parks at least twice a month but finances have stopped that. Have walked the 3 peaks of Yorkshire in 11 hours, Ben Nevis and every where in the lakes.

Have started a local walking group but no interest of yet.

Look forward to your responses.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Doncaster.

My Message: Hi looking to meet new friends male/female/group for more challenging walks adventures;Cairngorns, Snowdonia, lake Dist etc. I'm 55 and live in South Yorkshire, I still consider myself fairly fit and will participate in most sports, I usually run 2/3 times a week as well as walking. Unfortunately most of my previous walking partners have either arthritic knees or have taken up golf. My wife is happy to do the low level fell walking but is not prepared to tackle anything more challenging, or if the weather is bad. I like camping as well as walking (I have some good equipment ) so combining the two would be ideal, athough BandB would be ok as well. I enjoy good company and conversation. My Message: Hallo and welcome. I am a fit and active lady living in South Warwickshire. I have walked this area over a 10 year period on mainly 5/6 miler walks. I would love to join up with new walking friends to enjoy this spirit-lifting amazing hobby with the addition of the finale in the lovely old pub for drink/lunch.

I've walked with 4 Walking Festivals recently - Isle of Wight, Derbyshire, Herefordshire and Crickhowell. I love coastal/cliff scenery and a favourite is the South Hams. I know there are many other such wonders to be found and look forward to finding them with new friends.
