I am a Female Walker, in my early 30s, based near Utrecht.

My Message: I'm a 31 year old from the Netherlands and though I travel further afield as well I've found myself returning to Scotland (Highland and Islands) time and again because it's so beautiful! My last hiking trip was to the Western Isles and on the way back we passed beautiful Rum.

Unfortunately, my hiking partner on that trip turned out to be not as fit as both of us had hoped/ expected and though we had a great trip he's not up for another summer hiking. So I'm now looking for someone who'd like to meet up for some hiking on the Isle of Rum in July 2012. I'm up for day hikes or longer overnight hikes (tent or bothy). I don't mind hiking up to 8 hours a day and love a little adventure. However, on longer hikes I do prefer sticking to valleys and passes between peaks rather than the peaks themselves. I'd love to do a smaller peak on a day where there's not a long distance to cover.

Message me if you are interested! :-D

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Oxford.

My Message: Hi, I am single and live in Oxford - a great starting point for access to some lovely walks - which I am keen to do but not on my own. I am bright and energetic and would like a chat and a laugh on the way with a friendly male. I would prefer 6 - 8 miles and will admit to be a bit of a fair weather person - everything looks better in the sunshine! I look forward to hearing from you. Sarah

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Wisbech.

My Message: Hi Folks: My name is Kev, i live near Kings Lynn in that well known mountaineering county of Norfolk! I am an experienced hill walker, Ex RAF, so not bad at Navigation.
I am a bit of a 'Munroist' and have now climbed over 70 of these large Scottish mountains. I regularly walk in Snowdonia and try to get up to Scotland at least twice a year. My long term walking partner has decided to give up on the sport, and I would really like some company on my walks. I also love cycling, especially cycle touring. Anyway enough rambling, don't be shy, get in touch.......... Cheers Kev

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Whitstable.

My Message: Hi, I am a 50yr old fairly recently single (straight) female who is looking for a weekend walking companion (male or female) or groups to walk with. I have only been walking for the last 3 months and am now at max level 5 but, am hoping to build this up in time. Non of my friends can walk as far as 10 miles and therefore, need to find people that can. I'm originally from the Wirral but have live in Kent for many years. Unfortunately I don't drive yet so, am hoping to find companions in the Kent/Surrey/London area if possible. I love walking in all seasons and love all different kinds of walks. I'm very easy going, sociable, have a good sense of humour and a positive nature. I like pub meals/drink if you're up for it at the end of a hard walk. Hope to hear from anyone who would like to walk with me. Many thanks and hope to hear from you.

My Message: Hi, I am single and 47 and live in a lovely part of Dorset, which I would like to explore more, but not always on my own. I can walk mostly at the weekends, and can happily do 6 - 8 miles. As well as a good chat and laugh as we go I will possibly take some photos too. I am happy to travel to Hampshire and beyond and visit places of interest too. I look forward to hearing from you. Karen

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Barnstaple.

My Message: Hello, am looking to meet new friends for walking around the South West, particularly Exmoor and Dartmoor. Looking for weekend walking partners for a good long walk and a pub lunch or cream tea. Have fairly good fitness and walked the Coast to Coast walk last summer - fantastic. Also have a sister that owns a lovely pub in Powys so walkers around that area would be great also, will keep me from having to help with the washing up!
Hope to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Newnham, Hook.

My Message: Hi,
I'm Claire, 47 and reasonably fit living in North Hampshire and wanting to walk more, mainly in my localised area at weekends but also happy to go further afield with longer days. Local groups like Ramblers aren't really my thing as prefer a faster pace and smaller groups, one/two people, good conversation and have fun and fresh air. Currently walking about 8-10 miles but wanting to do more and explore new areas. Haven't read maps for years but happy to learn.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen weekend walker living on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales looking for like minded enthusiasts to share the views. Fairly fit - previous walks include the Yorkshire Dales 3 peaks. Would love to get to know someone who would eventually do some long distance walks with me over several days but I'd need to build my fitness up first! I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Christchurch, Dorset.

My Message: I've just joined up on this site and hoping to meet people both singles and groups to walk with. I mainly wander around the New Forest area and the beaches and coast of Dorset, however willing to travel further depending on my work schedule and time available. I am reasonably fit and can manage at least a 10 mile walk... better start gradually, hopefully be able to increase my fitness as i put them behind me. I like to camp and enjoy outdoor living, I have a practical sort of head about me and not a lot can scare me... only bottomless crevices and sheer cliffs if i have to comprehend them. Drop me a post if you think i can join in.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Redhill.

My Message: Hi. My name is Gerry, female, 62. I walk during the week and at weekends and would like to find others to share the pleasure of this beautiful country with and maybe meet up with those who'd like to travel further for walking holidays too, either in this country or Alpine meadows for example! There is so much to see that I haven't yet explored.
I'm reasonably fit having done quite a bit of Nordic walking recently with a local group.
I also like to take photos occasionally, or stop to absorb the fantastic views, have a picnic in some stunning place and maybe re-cap over a drink in an idyllic country pub at the end!
Looking forward to meeting/hearing from some fellow enthusiasts.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Reading.

My Message: Hi - I've done quite a bit of walking in the past but have been lazy over the last few months! I have booked a fairly strenuous walking holiday in September though so need to get back out there and to build up my fitness again. I like to walk mainly in my locality but open to the odd weekend away, or longer day trip. Ideal weekend walks will be 7-14 miles, once I've got my fitness levels back but probabaly wise to start with about 6-8 miles if I don't want to suffer afterwards too much! I mainly walk at the weekends but can sneak the odd half day during the week.

I'm looking for a female as a walking friend, someone with similar aspirations who is similar in age to myself. I live on the Southern border of the Peaks, I'm easy going and will be walking with my well behaved, friendly dog. Thank you for taking the time to read this, please contact me if interested.

I am looking for a companion, female or male, who likes to go out for walks on Sat or Sunday and possible weekends away walking.

I want to explore Berkshire, Oxfordshire especially the Chilterns, I also love walking by rivers and canals stopping to take photos along the way.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Chester.

My Message: Hi

The evenings are now getting brighter and the urge is on to get out and about a bit more, so here I am looking for a walking companion to accompany me along the way.

I have lots of female friends who join me going shopping etc so this time I'd really like to get the male perspective on days out and about walking. I have done a lot of walking in the past (particularly in Wales)but somehow haven't done so in the last year. I'd now like to get back into my stride by doing easy walks first and seeing how it goes. (Will definitely want to catch a coffee/bite of food somewhere along the way tho'!)

Would love to hear from you if you'd like to join me. I do office work part-time so am a bit more flexible than most during the week and also most weekends.

Talk soon. Mary

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Milford Haven.

My Message: Hi there,
I've only recently signed up to this and though it looked like a great idea to find like-minded people that may wish to join me out and about someday.
I'm 36, single and live / work in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
I've always been keen to explore the great outdoors, and I'm always up for new challenges, however until recently I probably haven't made as much of an effort as I should have done. The fact that most of my friends don't share my passion for the outdoors has restricted me to a certain degree but I've decided to put that right!! So, hopefully I'll find willing companions to enjoy an afternoon / weekend walk or challenge sometime, perhaps with the prospect of lunch afterwards, who knows???
Failing that, I'll head out alone - I've decided our great countryside has too uch to offer to simply let the chance go by
If you're interested in joining me someday then I'd love to hear from you, and hope you'll get in touch before tooo long, thanks, Gregg

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Nantwich.

My Message: Hi. I love getting outdoors, walking and camping. I go regularly with a local group and also arrange some family walks. I'd really like to meet up with other walkers and go on some more challanging walks, particularly in the Lake District or Wales. I am keen to get back to working my way through the Wainwright walks again if anyone is interested. Happy to meet up with other women or anyone in my local area. If there are any tall men who are interested in dating an outdoor girl and helping me to improve my map reading skills, I'm also interested in hearing from you. Get in touch!

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Odiham, Hampshire.

My Message: Hi, my name is Penny and I'm looking for a weekend walking companion to join me walking routes within a reasonable distance of north Hampshire. I work full time and crave a good dose of fresh air and a 10-12 mile stretch of the legs on a Saturday or Sunday.

I've completed a couple of national trails and am keen to do more. I can read a map and am not shy of walking in the rain, so long as we can keep going! I'm reasonably fit, have been a regular runner up to marathon length, and can be found at the gym at lunchtimes during the week.

I have tried walking with groups, but generally prefer the company of one other like minded soul, who enjoys a faster pace. Hope to hear from you!

My Message: Hello, I am a 55 years old female walker, new to Wales. I am doing a course in Cardiff and would like to get to know Wales by walking with people. I like taking time to look at things while walking and make a few drawings, but keep a reasonable rhyme to the walk at the same time. I enjoy walking uphill, but not longer than 15 kilometers a day.
