I have ambitions to walk as many coastal and hill walks across Britain as i can and to diaries each event. I am a Walker, in my late 20s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hi,
I live in the Bristol area and I'm looking for some walking companions. Being so close to South Wales I've walked alot in the Brecon Beacons, I love the area particulalry the peaks nr Glyn Tawe (Fan Brycheiniog etc) If I could move up there I'd go tomorrow! I also enjoy walking in North Wales - I'd like to go back and walk some more of the Carneddau. I'm also interested in doing a winter mountainerring course this year, and it would be great to find a few others to do it with and perhaps practice some of the skills learnt afterwards. I'm into outdoor swimming, so the Lake District also really appeals to me - I've been up there twice, but there's so much more to explore.

I have a 7 year old daughter who is a fantastic walker for her age (shes walked alot of the Brecon Beacons and the main tops of Snowdonia) She stays with her Dad on Sundays so I am free to walk on Sundays and the occasional weekend away. Would also be good to meet other families with children who like walking as all my daughters friends are more into playing on play stations etc! When I am walking with my daughter we also endulge in a bit of geocaching to her spur her along..

I don't drive, but willing to pay our way in terms of petrol/bridge fees and can get to newport etc by train at the weekends. Hope to hear from someone soon!

Ps I havent investigated the walk grades yet, so I've ticked them all not knowing what they mean! I up to walking up to 15 miles per day (at a push!) and not adverse to the odd scramble. I have a healthy fear of heights so I'm not massivly keen on the really exposed stuff.

My Message: HiI, i am 46, easy going and love adventure and nature, i am equally happy to take a short walk as i am to go up a mountain or go scrambling although I have to admit to not getting up one for the last couple of years for various reasons. I am happy to do local walks but also venture further affield, I love to finish off a good walk with a nice local pub, and also happy to camp on further afield trips. Enjoy cycling and golf also but i have friends who are happy to do these with me, however they do think that walking is something you do when the car has broken down hence the message. I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near North Yorkshire.

My Message: Hello fellow walkers!
I'm looking to meet new walking friends, male or female, any age, for walks either in my local area of North Yorkshire, or further afield. The Lakes, the Peak District, and Northumberland are all within easy travelling distance. I'm 49 and I'm just getting back to fitness after an injury, so I'm really looking forward to getting out in the hills regularly again. I am a warm, friendly person, and like nothing better than walking with good company, having a chat and a laugh along the way, and a few drinks at the end of the day. My favourite walk is probably Coniston Old Man, I loved every minute of it! The views are jaw dropping, and I like the history of the area, I somehow think that its copper mining past adds, rather than detracts from the landscape. I like any kind of walking though, from snowy forest walks to coastal paths and mountains. My map reading skills are not great however, despite having done a map reading course :-) I now have a hand held gps, so I'm not wandering around in the hills come midnight! It would be lovely to make some new walking friends, so if there is anyone out there who would like to meet up, please drop me a line x

My Message: I'm currently trying to log as many mountainous days as I can over the next year in aid of my Summer Mountain Leader award. I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Farnham.

My Message: Hi, I'm a 54 year old female based near Farnham, looking for male/female company for more regular walking in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Dorest. Local walking groups are rather large and I prefer more one to one conversation, probably a faster pace too. I tend to use pre planned walks as I'm not the best map reader - happy to learn from an expert though! Available to walk at least every other weekend, and occasionally in the week, especially during summer months while the evenings are lighter. I'm reasonably fit (Gym and cycle) and happy to walk 8-10 miles or more. Love walking holidays uk or abroad, walked Hadrian's Wall two years ago. Would love to meet more liked minded people to share the beauty of uk countryside. Pub stops are equally important but I'm not adverse to the odd picnic! I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cardiff.

My Message: Hello out there, my name is Mike, I’m aged 56 and three quarters, have my own teeth and many original fittings. I’m looking for someone to share walks of all kinds but especially in the hills. I’ve been a walker for over 40 years and despite some dodgy knees and a slipped disc I can still manage a long day out, enjoy some light scrambling and I can use a map and compass. I usually walk solo but would enjoy some company now and again and at the end of the day perhaps a pie and a pint, or a cassoulet and claret, or a toastie and a cup of tea. Hopefully a walking partner will encourage me to get out more than I manage at the moment. I work full-time but can manage an occasional week day as well as weekends. I will be in the Lake District (staying near Patterdale) from 20-27 May and the Highlands (in Glen Nevis) from 10-17 June if anyone can manage it; short notice I know.

My Message: Hi
I am a fit, happy, easy going and healthy man who probably doesn't look much like your typical walker, looking for a lovely lady to share some of this beautiful country of ours with. I got the bug for walking again a couple of years back and do as much as I can, some nice long day walks, weekends and also a bit of wild camping during the warmer months, I enjoy planning the walks, as well as walking them and some of the places I have been to along the south cost are far too nice not to share. Not into walking groups or clubs, kind of defeats the object for me as it is so nice to be away from all that. I enjoy some good conversation /debating /laughing along the way and also a nice pub or 2 always helps. I am based in the south and know some lovely walks around the South east but am willing to travel anywhere (within reason) to share some more great days out and learn some from you. My Message: Slim, fit, cheerful and unconventional Worcestershire man with old cottage on Malvern Hills (ideal walking centre) seeks female companion for all kinds of low-budget walking adventures, long or short, anywhere in UK, from wild camping or bothying in the moors and mountains to finding geocaches along shores, canals and riverside paths. Possible cycle trips too (I have a Brompton folding bike). I'm a life member of both English Heritage and the YHA. Also like NT properties, morris dancing, ceilidhs, railways, board games and card games. Modest income from my publications about castles, churches, abbeys, ancient monuments and walking trails. My interests complement each other without dividing lines between work and leisure activities. Good navigator with 1:50, 000 maps for almost all of Britain Isles. National Trails still to do include Cotswold Way, South Downs Way, Pennine Bridleway and southern section of SW coast path. I’m a carnivore, don’t drink much alcohol, don’t smoke and don’t own a car. I’m not tall, and not a particularly fast walker or cyclist.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Taunton.

My Message: Hi, I'm Chris a single male who walks mostly around the South West. Quantocks, Exmoor and Dartmoor being favourites with a trip to Lake District most every year. I am looking to try new and familiar ventures ideally with a friendly female companion. I am active with a walking based youth group and get lots of male company this time of year whilst training but miss female banter. I am reasonably fit and well behaved and can do a good impression of a dog panting whilst slogging up hills laden with kit. I'm happy walking with dogs but don't have one myself. Navigation is good but happy to share. I like gentle strolls with coffee or a pub in mind to hiking with overnight gear.

My Message: Hallo and welcome. I am a fit and active lady living in South Warwickshire. I have walked this area over a 10 year period on mainly 5/6 miler walks. I've walked with 4 Walking Festivals recently - Isle of Wight, Derbyshire, Herefordshire and Crickhowell. I love coastal/cliff scenery and a favourite is the South Hams. I know there are many other such wonders to be found and look forward to finding them with new friends.

My Message: Hi. I'm looking for a walking companion, male or female as I either walk on my own or in a group. I like to stop, take breath, 'admire the view' and feel the breeze in my face with shared quiet enjoyment as well as having a natter and laugh along the way with a picnic or pub/cuppa at the end.
