I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cardiff.

My Message: Hello out there, my name is Mike, I’m aged 56 and three quarters, have my own teeth and many original fittings. I’m looking for someone to share walks of all kinds but especially in the hills. I’ve been a walker for over 40 years and despite some dodgy knees and a slipped disc I can still manage a long day out, enjoy some light scrambling and I can use a map and compass. I usually walk solo but would enjoy some company now and again and at the end of the day perhaps a pie and a pint, or a cassoulet and claret, or a toastie and a cup of tea. Hopefully a walking partner will encourage me to get out more than I manage at the moment. I work full-time but can manage an occasional week day as well as weekends. I will be in the Lake District (staying near Patterdale) from 20-27 May and the Highlands (in Glen Nevis) from 10-17 June if anyone can manage it; short notice I know.

My Message: Hi I am Jules a single walker…
I live near Charnock Richard Services on the M6 (sounds lovely doesn’t it!!).

Like to do fairly strenuous walks but then happy to tootle sometimes (but my strenuous may be easy to someone else so who knows!!).

I am easy going and friendly (well like to think I am!!) and happy to walk in a group or with any individual. I often have a dog with me.

Just joined this site April 11 so hope people get in touch.
Have fun Jules.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Worcester.

My Message: Hello... I spend most of my working life stuck behind a desk and am acutely aware that I need to take more excercise and get fitter. Walking alone doesn't appeal and most of my friends have other commitments, so would like to make new friends to join up with and go walking. the Malverns are local to me but am happy to explore new areas. Am available mainly at weekends. Please get in touch if you are also looking for a walking pal or feel I could fit in with existing friends. Regards Tina

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Llangattock.

My Message: Hi. I've recently moved to Llangattock, near Abergavenny in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. I'm looking for walking companions - male or female - based in the area or who are passing through. I'm reasonably fit (comfortable with up to about 15 miles at the moment), but not into route-marches as I like to stop and admire the views and draw breath from time-to-time! I'm freelance, so fairly flexible about when I walk although weekends usually best.

My Message: Hi to All,
Looking to join up with fellow walkers, particularly in the Lake District, but would consider the Highlands, Wales, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorks moors too. Like to keep a steady pace (no route marching!) but also like to savour the views and have a cuppa! Great to finish in a tea shop or pub and sample the local ale.
Quite chatty but can be quiet too... especially on the uphills! If you fancy meeting up, drop me a line.

My Message: Hi, I have not done much walking for a few years but I am longing to get back into the countryside and link with my passion for photography. Would prefer to walk with individuals, male or female, or small groups. If anyone from the Wigan/Winstanley area uses this site and would like to form a walking group please feel free to contact me. Love walking in the Lakes in particular. I have done many low level walks there up to about 7 miles. Ending the walk with a glass of something, preferably red, is always good as is a meal when time allows. Know retired so able to walk any day Monday to Saturday and some Sundays.
Look forward to hearing from like minded people.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Oswestry.

My Message: Hi I'm Malcolm and I'm looking for a female companion for hill and mountain walks and other outdoor activities
I enjoy dabbling at all sorts of outdoor things - mountains, skiing, sailing, canoeing, etc but master of none!

Some activities restricted due to a prolapsed disc a few years ago that niggles away - but still like having a go at most things - even if it may hurt the next day!

Have done quite a lot in Wales and the Lakes, and some in Scotland and abroad in the past – Europe, Malaysia and Nepal
Completed all the Nuttall’s 2000ft mtns last year - not in one go! - although I’m not a serial peak bagger but it’s taken me to different areas of England and Wales
I'm interested in historic sites like forts, castles and industrial remains, and basic geology.

I organize a group of friends for local evening walks in north-west Shropshire twice a week through the summer and occasional weekend activities, and get pleasure from helping friends try new things and getting enjoyment
It can be fun doing things on your own but it can be more fun when you do them with others! Think this is true of trips and activities but also of the everyday things in life.
Have been a bit manic with work over autumn and winter and not got out much so bit unfit.
Wanting to get back out and enjoy the hills - but would like some company to share them with.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Forest Of Dean.

My Message: COMPANION SOUGHT FOR YOUNG-MINDED 52YR OLD TO GET HER WALKING AGAIN!

I used to walk a lot but life and study got in the way, so I've lost my fitness and developed a niggling hip. Going up-hill is good though long descents on steep, mountainous ground can be tricky. Flat ground is uncomfortable to walk for long periods. Overall, could probably do 5 miles to begin with and build up to longer walks.

I still have good stamina, and still love being outdoors, but walking by myself has lost much of the appeal and enjoyment it used to have.

I am fairly familiar with the Black Mountains and Llangattock Hillside, having lived in Crickhowell and walking one or the other daily. I once knew the Garth and Rudry (N Cardiff). I've walked Pen-Y-Fan and Snowden too (well, OK, I walked down Snowden!). Have really only walked in South Wales so am open to new walks, preferably circular ones.

I live on the edge the Forest of Dean now, (near Ross-on-Wye) but find the tracks better for cycling. Company in this would be nice too, especially some help to develop stamina and mb skills for other cycling routes. Cycling is kinder to my hip and great fun too. I have a good bike but I'm out of practice.

I am at a cross roads in life - my son has fledged and, after 25 years as a self-employed French polisher, I'm trying to change career. All of which appears to mean adopting a new outlook on life too, so meeting new people with new points of view would be welcomed.

I consider myself to be a young 52 yr old – not quite a Tigger but certainly not an Eyeore! I enjoy conversation, camping, silence, philosophy, nature, a beer, jam on my scones, being wow-ed and a jolly good laugh. If this resonates with you and if you are patient and without ulterior motive, I’d be really happy to know about it.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Chorley.

My Message: Hi
I'm i guess a keen walker, did the Pennine Way last August, which was amazing, looking to do something similar this summer too.
I Spend much of my walking time in the lakes, dales, or peaks or snowdonia, but really want to take a couple of weekends in scotland to experience some of the walking on offer up there.
I like a little bit of scrambling and would like to develop this. I've done strinding and sharp edge and loved them both (sharp i found a bit more exposed at one point!)
I have also some wild camping which i really want to do some more of, i think it would be more fun with company mind you!
I pretty limited to weekends, evenings i guess and friday afternoons. Drop me a line with your ideas, I'm thinking of the Ravenber Way this summer, 200 miles from Ravensglass to Berwick, not as far as the Pennine Way this time, fancy joining me?!

Mark

I do enjoy a good old ramble and scramble as long as I have a reward at the end like a nice warm log fire in a pub in the winter or a long tall glass of something in the summer!! I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stratford Upon Avon.

My Message: Hallo and welcome. I am a fit and active lady living in South Warwickshire. I have walked this area over a 10 year period on mainly 5/6 miler walks. I would love to join up with new walking friends to enjoy this spirit-lifting amazing hobby with the addition of the finale in the lovely old pub for drink/lunch.

I've walked with 4 Walking Festivals recently - Isle of Wight, Derbyshire, Herefordshire and Crickhowell. I love coastal/cliff scenery and a favourite is the South Hams. I know there are many other such wonders to be found and look forward to finding them with new friends.

My Message: I work in an office and go everywhere by car. I desperately need exercise and to get fit. Used to love walking and the feel-good factor that comes with being out in the fresh air looking at beautiful scenery. I have marked walks 1 and 2 as my fitness level is poor
and is something I need to work on! However I have to start somewhere. It would be nice to have company whilst walking.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Lichfield.

My Message: Hi, I moved down to the Worcester area last year and would like to meet female walkers for walks in this general area or further afield, I don’t mind travelling to meet up or to explore new areas. I am reasonably fit and enjoy getting out and about discovering new places by finding walks off the beaten track, not to bad with maps!
I am semi retired and can meet up during the week or weekends.
Enjoy the countryside and will walk anything up to 10 to 12 miles but happy with shorter strolls as well. It is always more enjoyable with good company to have a chat with and the obligatory drink in the local pub afterwards (or en route!).
Hope to hear from you soon. John

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Eccles.

My Message: I currently organise walks for a small group of friends based in Manchester on a Sunday. We're a mixed gender group ranging in age from 40 to 50 (unless my nephew joins us and he brings the average age right down!). We generally tackle fairly easy rambles, usually involving a pub at some point. We enjoy the exercise but also love the conversations, which can range from politics to the X-Factor, depending on how high-brow we're feeling!
We're mostly single but we're not against married people joining us, as long as they don't hold hands the whole time (and yes, there are some people who manage that on a walk!). We're trying to build up our stamina over the winter so that we can tackle some longer, more challenging walks in the summer. We're never going to walk the Three Peaks in 24 hours (so we're probably not the group for the super fit among you) but doing a single hill/mountain in a day would be sufficiently enjoyable for us and I'm sure for many similar walkers.
We all enjoy the outdoors and go walking for the scenery, the companionship and the charming pubs (although there seems to be far fewer of them around).
We've a few walks planned over Christmas - nothing strenuous, fairly flat walks around Cheshire of about 9 miles if anyone's interested. Then we'll settle into a routine of a Sunday walk probably twice a month.

Any age/gender welcome if compatible walker.
