My Message: Hello,

I want to meet new friends who like walking. I have been trying to convert a few of my current ones into enjoying the pastime, unfortunately, pushing them up hills and then getting them lost in fog seems to have put the most likely off.

I used to walk quite a lot when I was younger, mainly in the Peak District and North Wales. I have recently started again, hence the miserable friends. I have an ok level of fitness and like a bit of a challenge when it comes to my choice of walk.

My Message: Hi
My name is Claire and I'm looking to make new walking friends. My three teenage sons are less keen to walk with me these days and local friends are not really "walkers". I live on The Wirral and I try and walk most weekends. I don't mind travelling for a decent walk (5 miles +). I don't mind low level flat walks, or hills (preferably with the promise of a view) and am happy to do day walks in North Wales, The Peak District, Yorkshire Dales etc. My favourite place in the world is The Lakes ( I'm an exiled Cumbrian!), and have many Wainwrights under my belt. I would also be interested shorter evening walks locally. I work term time only, so I am available weekdays during school holidays. I can read a map, so I usually know roughly where I am and where I'm going!!!
I think there's nothing better than a day with my walking boots and rucksack on, in the great outdoors with the promise of a pub or tea shop at the end, if you feel that way too, please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Warwickshire.

My Message: I have done a lot of walking over the years both in the UK and abroad and retired so lots more time available now. My local area is the Cotswolds but I often walk in Wales, Derbyshire and the Lake District. I have completed part of the South West coast path and would like to do more. I particularly enjoy walking in the hills, coastal walking and walking a reasonable distance. Although I walk with various groups of friends regularly they are not always free or inclined to walk further from home. I have only marked a few areas as I would be willing to walk almost anywhere.
I look forward to finding new companions, particularly for the SWC path.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near London.

My Message: Reliving my passion for walking in the country side. As I am now registerd Blind I find it's not so easy for filling my love of walking. A keen rambler for many years I have a yearn to get out and about again and take in the beautiful creation that surrounds us. I am looking to make a couple of friends to come rambling. I'm living in London and need to get out from time to time.
I thought up to about 10+ miles would be a good starting distance. I can help with some travel expenses if we need a train. I am up for a pint, or tea, or my favoured place for a break is a bite to eat in the middle of nowhere propped up against a log or wall.
If you walk with a group or by yourself it would be great to hear from you.

My Message: Hi,
My name is Keith and I'm looking for a female walking companion to show me walks in the Lake District, Snowdonia and the Peak District. Ideally around 40 years old. I'm happily married so this is strictly walking. I work full time but have my own car. I've climbed Helvellyn 5 times so far this year which has been quite an experience with the snow. Did the fifth on 27/03/15. I can take holidays from work at short notice, I don't have a lot of holiday allowance but a good walk would be worth the sacrifice. I've done Great Gable, Skiddaw, Blencathra, Dale Head, Fleetworth Pike, Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Conistan Old Man and Ben Nevis. My Message: Hi there,

I am 40 years of age, I love walking but haven't done any for some time. I am looking for female and male friends to have a nice walk with in and around the North West (or further afield) I am free mainly at the weekends as I have a very busy professional working life during the week.

My friends don't like walking so much and I find it really sad that they miss out on such a lot of beauty that our country and region offers. I have just come out of a relationship so I really am just looking for good company and friendship, along side some fab walking and chilling!

A little bit about me, I love to travel, I love food, I love eating out, I love having a beer and like having a few laughs along the way. I am a very considerate person and prefer smaller groups rather than big walking groups. I love walking off the beaten track and ending up in a lovely country pub for some hearty food!

I love walking in the countryside, the seaside, the lakes, canals and even urban walking. I need to get my fitness levels up again, but can walk 7 miles on the flat at the moment. I have climbed some mountains, but for me, walking is about taking in the scenery, not the bagging of peaks or getting there the quickest or doing the longest walk.

Anyway, if you are free and you want to walk some time, I'd love to meet you.

My friends and I are seeking new friends to walk with in Wales or Shropshire, we are all hardy walkers and capable of trekking 18 miles + and mountain terrain. What we are in need of though is friends with map reading skills. We are able to travel together over to Wales and love nothing more than exploring the mountains in this region.

We are members of a local social club who arrange regular walks but often we require a more challenging hike in beautiful scenery.

My Message: Active 54 year old looking for equally active male walking buddy for walking at weekends in the main as work prevents weekday walking. I have recently joined this site hoping to find equally minded walking companions, male or female to share some good walks and lovely countryside.
I walked most of the mountains in Snowdonia till a riding accident smashed one of my legs. This was five years ago, and I have managed to walk myself into some fitness again, though some steep terrain is no longer possible. However, having taken up cycling and gentler walking I still enjoy the outdoors.
I walk a lot on my own since I lost my lovely four legged companion two years ago.
Map reading is not one of my talents.
I travel quite a lot as I like to cycle abroad and am lucky to speak 5 European languages.

My Message: Hi, I love to walk but don’t do enough, mainly because I no longer have a dog. I've climbed a few mountains in my time both at home and abroad and would dearly love to get back out there and share the joy with an interesting companion.

I run a consultancy business and have lots of interests from cooking to publishing and am interested in just about everything as long as it's not a long moan about politics. If you happen to be a male who's good company, likes to have fun with an optimistic attitude and a reasonable sense of direction (mine isn't the best but I could knock up decent rations if we get stuck…) and if our walks end up with a drink and bite to eat in the pub, I'm a happy bunny. I drive and can make time whether weekend or weekdays.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chelmsford.

My Message: Hello. I live in Essex where the main challenge in the winter is the mud! I walk regularly with a walking group but am looking for a male companion to share walks in a different way:-to plan the walk together, to discover the wonderful British countryside and wildlife, to chat and laugh along the way, to stop and look when and if you want, to have time to take photographs and at the end of the day to collapse into the teashop or pub. Although much maligned Essex has a very varied landscape with the estuaries and their big skies quite stunning but no hills that I've noticed! Last year I did some walking on the SW Coastal Path which was spectacular but challenging - up and down all the way. I'm happy with most reasonable distances and particularly like the prospect of completing a long distance trail - possibly in stages depending on the length. That said I'd be happy to walk almost anywhere! If you think you might be interested please get in touch.

My Message: Hi all, my name is David and I'm searching for a walking companion as it gets a little lonely walking by yourself plus it makes life more interesting sharing the gorgeous countryside with a fellow walker or cyclist, i have lots of time during weekdays and some weekends as i do shifts and perhaps some weekends as I'd love to walk parts of Scotland I'm reasonably fit and currently doing around 12 miles although i could be fitter haha, i consider myself reasonably intelligent with a quite philosophical outlook on life and enjoy personal company not so much a crowd loving center of attention guy, i live close to the peak district and takes about 1 hour from my house to Castleton.
