I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Stockport.
My Message: Hi - I am a married man living in Stockport looking for a walking partner to complete a few longish walks and end with a well deserved drink in a nice country pub. What could be better? I completed the Coast to Coast walk many years ago and would be interested in doing the Sandstone Trail over a weekend. I have a small dog that could come along on any walk and can provide transport if required.
I have recently retired and am trying to pack in as much adventure as I can! If you fancy joining me let me know.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Grassington.
My Message: Hi, this is Diane.
I live in the Yorkshire Dales and own a hotel (with walking companion rates if you choose to stay there) - I am finding it really difficult to find a walking companion to walk with, mid-week especially. Not looking to walk really long distances but happy to do up to 10 miles or so. Love the idea of pub grub after a good leg stretch. I love to laugh and consider myself easy company. I am not on here looking for romance (or whatever the modern term is) but just to enjoy the company of a fellow male or female walker. Hope to hear from you. Diane

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chatham.

My Message: I'm a 60 year old male based in Chatham Kent but I often travel to NW England and stay in Liverpool, Warrington or sometimes Manchester. I travel by train as I work for a rail company and don't drive but find that I can get to most of the places I like to go walking.
My walking interests are varied I used to do a lot of mountain walks a few years ago but haven't done any serious hard ones in recent years but I'm still fit to do long walks. I like canals, railway, coastal and river paths, moorland walks and around reservoirs maximum walk length I usually do are about up to 12 miles in 4-5 hours though I could shorten or lengthen it depending on a possible companion's need, if you have a dog I can work out a walk to suit your dog. I have lots of knowledge of walks around the NW and other area's.
I'm just looking for a friend either male or female to enjoy going walking within any of my favourite areas, I'm independent and would travel to meet at any place that is convenient. I'm a new member and haven't got a photo but hope to add one soon.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Worcestershire.

My Message: Hello, my name is Alex, I am a well spoken, well educated male, fit, slim, single, 55 year old, living in a beautiful, rural area of Worcestershire. I received an email a couple of years ago from a chum who was backpacking his way around New Zealand, and he was encouraging me to get off my bottom, see more of this island, and perhaps join a walking club.... so here I am!
In February 2016 I had a major operation, but all is well now thankfully. Initially, I would like to gently ease my way back into walking, until full fitness is restored. I regularly used to walk the Malvern Hills, all through the Cotswolds, and have done many, many miles in the West of Ireland when I lived there. I still want to walk my regular walks, but now I have a mind to cast my net wider, in search of some fresh challenges and experiences. My ideal companion who I would like to join me? Female, slim, bright, optimistic, good company, has a sense of direction (as my map reading ability is very rusty). Someone who would be happy to have a few well deserved drinks and a pub meal at the end of the day. I no longer have a dog, so if you do happen to have a four-legged friend who loves the outdoor life, and who of course loves me too, then even better. I have plenty of time on my hands, during the week and at weekends, and I drive, so if you are looking for some genial and intelligent company along the way, perhaps we should make a plan.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Nantwich.

My Message: Hi,
I live in Nantwich. My wife and friends are not keen on mountains or high places so I sometimes walk with groups (clubs, walking festivals or charity events). Other times I walk alone. I am looking for new friends for occasional day or weekend walks (male, female or small group).
I'm easy going, and always up for a laugh. Ideally I prefer mountain walks in wild places, ridge walks, edge walks, anything with some elevation and views really. A bit of scrambling is always a welcome bonus. Also I like overnight walks to take in the sunrise over the mountains when conditions allow. Happy to do some lower level walks though particularly if the weather is bad. Ok with map and compass, never get lost, though occasionally I get delayed ;-)
Some people have said that I walk fairly fast, I’m not sure really so I went up Snowdon on one of the easy paths, good weather and an 8kg pack. Took just under 2 hours from car park to summit (about 4 miles and 3,000 ft. ) I think that is a steady relaxed pace but might be fast for some people, slow for others. (I can walk faster or slower though) Distance is no problem, really depends on the terrain but long or shorter days are fine.
Happy staying in Youth hostels, bunkhouses, camping, bivvy bag on a hill, etc.
My Favorite place to walk is Snowdonia (still plenty more to explore) but I would like to spend a bit more time on the high fells in the Lake District this summer and possibly do the Yorkshire 3 peaks (never done it but no idea why not). Scotland would also be good but may have to wait due to available time.
Open to suggestions for any new challenges, via ferrata, Caving, Sea to Summit, Perhaps Lakeland 3000s or Welsh 3000s (probably over a weekend though as I don’t think I am fit enough to do either of these in the 24 hours) I plan to retire in about 2 years so I will have more time for bigger adventures but for now I am limited to weekends though I can usually get away early on Fridays.
I love dogs, don’t have one at present but Border Collies are my favorite breed. I like them all though so if you have a dog that likes to walk that would be great.
If you fancy meeting up for a walk sometime please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks
Dave.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Shrewsbury.
My Message: Whether a gentle stroll or a challenging trekking holiday, I'm always keen to pull on my walking boots and head off to places best seen on foot. I discovered the joys of walking whilst training for the London Moonwalk in 2007, and since then I've covered many miles in the UK, including Hadrian's Wall and climbing Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell (although not all in one day) I've also spent a week walking in the beautiful french Pyrenees and completed two trekking holidays - in Kerala and to Everest Base Camp, both incredible experiences, and I'd love to do more e. g. Machu Picchu.
My other passion is skiing, and I've recently returned to the UK having taken a short career break to work in the french Alps last winter (the oldest chalet maid in town!) Now back behind a desk full time - suffering 'cabin fever' - I'm keen to get out walking as much as possible at weekends, please get in touch if you'd like to join me.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Didcot.
My Message: Hi there, I'm a 44 year old male living in Oxfordshire, who loves to spend occasional days/weekends walking the South West Coast Path and Pembrokeshire Coast Path. I'm also partial to walks in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, and would love to get to know mid-Wales better. I'm also keen to explore Exmoor and Dartmoor. I spent my younger years bagging the Munros, and still love the occasional visit north of the Border, as well as walking in the Swiss Alps a couple of times a year. Am looking for a female who has a similar interest in these areas and would like to join me on trips. I have my own transport and would be happy to provide lifts as necessary. Mark

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bristol.
My Message: Hello
I live in north of Bristol and go walking with friends in the areas I've ticked, but would like to meet some new people to enjoy walking with at weekends. Anything from 6 to 12 miles is good for me. I like footpaths rather than lanes and anywhere that has amazing views and archaeology to explore.
I can drive or happy to take public transport to get to a circular walk route.
Think I'm OK company, happy to chat along the way with other walkers. Most of all love the here and now of being out there (a pint along the way goes down well too!)
Helen

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Malvern.
My Message: As I've been on this great site for 3 years I thought an update was in order. I now spend December, January and February in Ribeira Brava, Madeira and the remaining 9 months here in Malvern; both splendid walking centres. Nevertheless, while in England I like to get away and over the last few years have walked the SWCP from Exmouth to Poole in dribs and drabs. Thinking of a new project this year, I saw on this site that Wales is split into fourteen mountainous regions. How about climbing the highest in each region? In a relaxed way, you understand, going away for a few days at a time. Investigation showed that I'd done many of them before so I decided on the third highest of each instead. Anyone fancy joining me? Oh, I'm planning to walk the Fisherman's Trail, along the Atlantic Coast in Portugal, probably in October, as well.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Shrewsbury.

My Message: I am looking for a walking companion around the same age, male or female, to accompany me and my 2 border collies on a walk every now and then. My family and friends used to join me on walks, but they are all so busy it's hard to arrange a time when we are all free.
I don't enjoy really long walks, I prefer shorter walks with beautiful scenery or wildlife to look at on the way (or a nice pub at the end!)
I like discovering new and interesting walks. That's not to say I never visit the same place twice, but where possible I will find an alternative route around, to make the same walk slightly different.
I run a dog training centre near Shrewsbury which keeps me busy most days, especially at weekends. However I don't work full-time hours and usually have time off during the week. This is when I am more likely to be free for walks.
I sometimes go away for training seminars, so could potentially walk in other areas of the country if it fits in with one of my trips.
In a walking companion I am looking for an honest (but not boring), kind, optimistic person who enjoys life (in moderation), can hold their own in a conversation and can have a laugh.
If this is too much to ask then a mixture of the above would also be good!
Thanks for reading

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Camberley.

My Message: Hi, I am new to this website in March 2016. I am writing this message from Tromso in arctic Norway! Here with my wife, but she doesn't walk, so feeling sad that I don't have walking partners here. We have been visiting my daughter who runs a dog sledding company in arctic Sweden, where I have been saying I would like to walk on the Kungsledden ( Kings Way) one summer. So lots of potential trips to Norway/ Sweden/Finland. I have been an experienced hill walker and expeditioner e. g. Alps, Pyrenees, High Atlas plus all the UK wild areas. Now I am returning to my walking roots and would like to join with someone who loves good walking adventures!
Anything considered. I mean anything!! I am slowly getting walking fit and would welcome turning strangers into walking friends. Very happy with shorter routes especially if lots of height gained.
I have a Mountain Leadership Certificate from the 1970's, so a little rusty and worn!
My main interests are: East Africa, where I am a trustee of African Revival, an education and community NGO; school governing; and coaching and mentoring. What are yours?
Love to hear from you.
David Leeper

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loughborough.
My Message: I'm looking for friends who enjoys walking and the great outdoors to join me on my adventures.
I walk between 6 and 10 miles most weekends, with shorter walks during the week.
I live in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, which has some beautiful countryside. I also enjoy walking in Wales and the Peak District, the Lakes District, Cornwall and Scotland. I also enjoy camping, bodyboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities. I work full time during the week, but I'm willing to travel reasonable distance for weekend walks (North Wales, Peak District, etc), and further for weekends away/holidays/etc. I like to travel, so walking holidays abroad are also a possibility.
If you're interested in meeting up then please get in touch. Nick.
