I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Coventry.
My Message: Hi, I'm 35, single and I am looking for new female friends to go walking with at the weekends as most of my friends are attached so they get busy!. I live in Coventry but I am more than willing to travel for good walking company. I love going for both easy going walks and the more challenging ones, just love being in the outdoors. My gorgeous dog always comes walking with me so dog friendly people please. I am reasonably fit, I did Snowdon a couple of times last year.
I'm looking for people who fancy a walk, have a good sense of humour, don't take life too seriously and don't mind what the weather is doing. I also think it's a nice bonus if there is a pub at the end! If anyone fancies heading out get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you....

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Derby.

My Message: Hi, I live in Derbyshire and I am genuinely looking for a male companion to share all there is to love and enjoy in walking and discovering new experiences. I have loved walking for many years, and has always been my love and a way of keeping fit and healthy. I love walking in any weather and as often as possible. I enjoy both gentle walking, stoping to take in views and breath the fresh air, and longer all day walks which are more challenging.
I love walking holidays, and I would very much like to explore further. There are so many areas of the country I have yet to discover, and I am looking for a like minded male to share these times with. I would love to plan a walking holiday this year.
I am free to walk most week-ends, and also some evenings when the evenings are lighter.
I would love to hear from you if you would like to share my love of walking, and the discovery of many new walks up and down the country.
Thank you for reading my message, Olwyn.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rochester.

My Message: Hello. I’m Kent-based, 51 on birth certificate, but stopped counting at 35. Commuting to the City for work means that I can only get out to walk at weekends, but I became single again last year, so I now have every other weekend free.
I enjoy fairly strenuous fell walks, but I’m equally happy on a woodland stroll, as I walk for the pleasure of being in the countryside, stopping to look around, and maybe taking some photos – I’m not interested in beasting myself on a route march. If you appreciate the simple pleasure of birdsong on a balmy June day, you’ll know what gets me out of doors too.
The Lakes are my main passion, but living in the SE means I only get to do Wainwright bagging 2 or 3 times a year, alas. I’m planning to do the C2C, and hope to tick off some sections of the North Downs Way as “training” walks between now and then. I also have NNAS Silver Cert, so can usually find my way home..
I have enjoyed my solo walking so far, but would love to join a group of like-minded souls, or to hear from anyone (M/F) with whom any of this strikes a chord, and who enjoys a walk and an easy-going natter on just about anything. Local contacts would be ideal, of course, but I’m equally happy to travel further afield to meet and walk – anywhere in fact where there is good scenery, pleasant company, and a village pub. Hope to hear from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Leicester.
My Message: I am a complete novice, have never really walked any great distance but long to do so. Live in the South Leicestershire area close to Warwickshire/Northants borders and really need a companion to go for gentle walks at the weekends. Stuck at a computer all week and hardly move so need to get out there in the fresh air and get some proper exercise. A friend of mine has suggested the Half Moon Walk in London which is 13 miles so I need to get some practice in. Would love to hear from you if you (like me) have no one to walk with.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Shipley.
My Message: Male 57 with gsoh lives in Shipley West Yorkshire just retired (wife continues to work and is happy to do so!) looking for either local men or women or groups to walk with midweek. I love walking and whilst working used it to de-stress at weekends but am now able to enjoy the beauty of the countryside all week! I am happy to walk alone but prefer walking with old or new friends. Have been enjoying walking for 10 years and prefer medium walks (10 to 15 miles) but happy to go for longer or shorter walks. Not into camping though - I now like my creature comforts.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Balsall Common.
My Message: Hi I've just hit 50 - gulp - and am climbing Kilimanjaro next year. Want to get plenty of hill walking in. I teach fitness and like challenging walks - with a good old gossip along the way. Easy going, and fun. I am Midlands based close to all of the main motorways so can head in any direction. Would like to do Snowdon around Xmas time. Don't mind rain, hail wind or snow - want to test out my new high altitude kit! Can do weekends away - so consecutive days walking are welcome - need to get in training. Happy to walk in couples or a group. If you are looking for a partner to climb a few hills this winter - please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Esher.
My Message: Hi fellow walkers, I am a fit female walker with increasingly more time at weekends to pursue my passion of hill walking and long distance paths now that the kids are independent! I took up walking over 10 years ago when the old knees starting to creak from too much running and love it - rain or shine. I mostly walk on my own, as few of my mates have the time or inclination for a long day. Recently did the 3 Peaks (just under the 24 hours) and enjoyed Snowdon so much I went back the following weekend to do the 'Horseshoe'. South West Coast is a favourite Long Distance Path and I would like to tackle many more. Enough chat, I would love to meet up with fellow walkers for some company and an excuse to stop and have a beer at the end of a walk. Angie

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Hereford.

My Message: Hi, I'm looking for m/f walking pals to help me widen my horizons and be more adventurous. I only got into walking a couple of years ago when I was trying to get fit enough to do the Inca Trail (hardest thing I ever did but so worth the effort). My problem is I've a lousy sense of direction and never learned to read a map so i'm looking for someone who has that skill and might be willing to share their knowledge. If you can overcome the first two hurdles I also have a great sense of humour, love a laugh and a natter but appreciate companionable silence too. Because of the lack of map reading skills I tend to stick to short local walks when it's just me, my Ipod and camera but it seems such a waste when I live 25mins away from the Black Mountains and 45mins from Brecon. I've only checked the boxes for places quite close to me simply because I still work and therefore I don't have unlimited time off but it doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in other places. I've no idea what my level of walking is so I just ticked the first 4 boxes and I've never tried to work out how fast I walk. I just love the exercise, the possibility of finding another breathtaking landscape to photograph and the empty spaces. It's just more enjoyable if you've got a friend to share it with. Would love to hear from anyone who shares the sentiment and is willing to take on the role of map reader until I get the hang of it. Hope to hear from you. Pat

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Darlington.

My Message: Hi everyone, my name is Janet. I really enjoy walking but most of my friends are married and have family commitments so cannot get out and about every weekend with them. It would be great to meet other like minded people to enjoy walks and the outdoors, finishing up at the end of a good walk with some social chat and maybe a drink and a pub meal. During the week is difficult to get any walking in as I work full time. I live in the north east, county durham and would be prepared to travel and take in walks in other areas. I have walked in northumberland, north yorkshire, peak district and the lakes, on the flat and up the hills and dales. I've just come back from the lakes and enjoyed walking and climbing up pike biscoe... i think thats what it was called! If anyone would like to join me or for me to join with you on some of your walks please get in touch. ps... am not a very good map reader but willing to learn. would like to go on a map reading course at some point. happy walking!

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Blackburn.
My Message: Hello, I'm 32 years old and have relatively recently found my feet. I get out as often as I can (2-3 times per week) and am enjoying every minute (almost!)
I'm limited in terms of people to walk with as my time off is often mid week. It would be nice to have some company and I would love to do some more adventurous walks than I can safely do my own - not forgetting that the pint at the end tastes far better with company. So, if you are an experienced walker, a relative novice or somewhere inbetween feel free to get in touch.
Despite my inexperience I have bags of determination and big ambitions!

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near York.

My Message: Hi I'm a 40 something male, looking for some companions to go walking in the Lakes, Peaks and Yorkshire areas. I live in the Howardian Hills area of North Yorkshire, so the moors are on my doorstep and I have walked in many areas around here. Unfortunately my family don't really share my enthusiasm for walking so I tend to pack a rucksack on 1 day of the weekend to escape on my own. Would rather have a bit of company along the way and thats where you come in ! I'm planning to do all the Wainwrights before i'm 50, so I am looking to be in the Lakes on a reasonably regular basis in the next 7 years, failing that some day trips to other areas like the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales etc. would be good. I'm easy to get on with, strong enough on nav skills not to get lost too often and can tackle anything from a flat 3-5 miler to a full days hike of several peaks. All walks planned with a pint at the end ! Let me know if you are interested in joining me!

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cambridge.

My Message: My name is John and I'm an accountant (not my fault!). I recently discovered that walking up mountains is great exercise and a total detox for a stressed mind, so I like to do it when I can, especially in the Lakes and Scotland. Unfortunately I live near Cambridge - so I can commute easily into the City - but it's so not hilly around here, plus I appreciate company as I find hiking on my own a bit lonely. Fortunately my job is fairly random and I can get away for days at a time, working on my laptop if need be, to hike and explore. I'm looking for someone to share the experience, the grandeur, the isolation, the views, of being in a wonderful landscape. But safe in the expectation of a civilised shower, meal and comfy bed at the end of the day. I am NOT a camper!
I can navigate quite confidently and I can lead or follow, if required, but much prefer to travel by consensus (as I get all the leading and following I can cope with at work). I can do day trips out-and-back, or linear trips if the accommodation is booked ahead. I'm not too ambitious; definitely a walker with a bit of scrambling in me, NOT a dedicated rock climber and no desire to be one as I find heights scary - did Striding Edge in May, clinging to the rock - but my confidence is improving.
So I'm hoping to find a walking companion, based either in the South, who can share the driving, or in the North/Scotland, to meet up with. Please contact me if you want to make a friend and share some great walks.
