My Message: Moved to Stourbridge approx 1 yr ago. Looking for fellow walkers in the area - or further afield. Enjoy walking but haven't done a great deal this past year. I tend to let other people read maps and take care of the serious stuff! Have own transport.
Thought that I would post a message to see if there is anyone (or group of people) out there who would be interested in meeting up for a walk in the Malverns. Maybe from St Anne's to British Camp. Stopping off for lunch/drink. Not too rigid. An opportunity to meet fellow walkers, (and potential regular walking partners) enjoy the fabulous countryside, exercise and socialize......

My Message: Hi, I am a fairly fit 59 year old female who is based in West Cumbria and has walked extensively in the Lake District over the last 6 years when I moved here. Having recently retired and with extra time of my hands I would now like to walk in more of the UK. Unfortunately my husband hates walking and has no desire to accompany me on my travels so it would be good to meet up with anyone who enjoys walking as much as I do. I have a car and am quite happy to drive pretty much anywhere!

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Leicester..

My Message: Hello, don't let the first part of my message put off any novice walkers or anybody who would just like a stroll in the countryside. I spent 15 years in the army so am used to walking, I did a Arctic survival course with the Royal Norwegian Air Force, a sea survival course with the German Air Force and a jungle survival course with the SAS so I know my way around a map and compass BUT I have recently had to retire due to ill heath. I have been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, to me and you that means the part of my heart that pumps out the oxygenated blood is only working at 27% capacity so I have to be very careful what I do. I'm up to 3-5 miles walking a day now but always take thing nice and steady, my walking area is East Leicestershire at the moment but I would like to go further afield if anybody would like to show me their area. I have recently rejoined the YHA so can stop over night if there is a hostel in your area. As I'm now retired I can walk week days as well as weekends. I feel it is only fair to let people know of my limitation but please don't let that put you off...... I'm not dead YET!!!!!

My Message: Hello, I am 42 years old who loves the outdoors and looking for walking companions (male/female) in the Cheshire area and I am happy to walk anywhere so distance isn't a problem. I am reasonably fit and happy with reading a map but need more practice with using a compass. I'm happy walking any distance whether it is a flat walk or a hill/mountain. I also enjoy cycling. My Message: Hi i'm new to this.. writing messages for the world to see!!.. i'm female in my late 40s living in the North East fit, love the outdoors.. ski and play golf... i have treked in Peru done the 3 peaks in Yorkshire and spent many a weekend in the Lakes and days out in Northumberland but i'm sure there are more peaks and hills to do.. i'm up for an adventure don't mind travelling to meet up. Free every other Sunday some Saturadays and a day off in the week can be arranged providing no golf.. would like to meet similar walkers for days out..

I am a Walker, in my late 20s, based near Leeds.

My Message: Hi, I'm 29, male, living in Leeds. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who enjoys moderate to hard walking/scrambling, in anything from bright sunshine to heavy rain. I'm available most weekends and can do day walks or even bring my tent for two-day trips. I can get to the Lake District (I've made some in-roads into counting off the Wainwrights!), Yorkshire Dales and Peak District (possibly Snowdonia at a push). I've done a reasonable amount of walking before but am no expert. I completed the National Three Peaks in May, but haven't been out since (so might need to begin with something that isn't too intense!). I'm easy-going and friendly, and looking to walk with any individual/small group with a similarly relaxed but enthusiastic about seeing the outdoors!

My Message: Hi there... recently on the comeback trail following a foot operation and my dog is pestering me to get on the hills!

Ideally looking for like minded people with two leg - M or F - map reading not essential - I have the routes and I'm a dab-hand with the GPS!

Saturdays are best - although the off weekend trip is feasible - if you have a dog I know of a great place to stay in Kendal - and the world's greatest bar!!!!

My Message: I'm amazed when I go on some of the go4awalk walks how few other people I see. Although I quite like the solitude I can't help feeling it would be more satisfying to be able to share some of the walking experiences with someone (and their dog maybe)

My Message: I'm a 34 year old divorced, professional man. I haven't been on that many walks and would love to do a lot more but unfortunately have no-one to go with. I keep myself fit so am not concerned about lack of fitness. I would like to go walking with a female aged between 25-45. I'm easygoing and love chatting so would like to meet someone similar who I can have a chat and a laugh with and maybe a meal and a drink at the end of the walk. I'm not familiar with many walking routes and have no sense of direction so if you fancy getting lost with me please get in touch. I'm conscious that this is beginning to look like a dating website advert, which it isn't, but if we're going to spend a few hours together it would be great if we could get on. I am a Walker, in my early 20s, based near Ticknall.

My Message: My cousin Sophie and I run a new walking group'. We arrange walking events which are for all ages, genders and abilities in the South Derbyshire area. As we also love food, we arrange a 'picnic' for everyone who comes along to our walks made by a fantastic local catering company.

The walks usually start off in Ticknall, Derbyshire and we have around one a month. We also arrange bespoke walks for birthdays, hen and stag dos and corporate get-togethers.

Our next walk is on June 18th and is an evening walk with a soup supper but there are loads more...

I'm Phil, 32, and a regular walker. I'm looking for any and all comers who are keen to get out into the mountains, preferably Scotland, but equally happy with the Lakes/Snowdonia. I am enthusiastic and pleasant company and I'm looking for like minded people to hike with and share the experience, and the driving! I am reasonably fit and experienced, having done all three national peaks and the Yorkshire dales 3 peaks challenge, and so can encourage those who are less fit and experienced with their ambitions to improve. I am also keen on photography and may want to keep stopping to indulge. I am also more than happy for dogs to come along as they always seem to add fun to a walk.

47 year old fairly fit free agent here, wearing walking boots and wondering which way to turn…

I’m open to possibilities and am interested in building up a circle of ‘walking’ friends any where within reason in the UK. Does anybody know of a sociable walking group for professional people –in their 30’s, 40’s 50’s …if you do please let me know?

Love being out in the countryside at the weekends to escape a busy and often hectic working week.

Looking for interesting company, some fun, a few drinks and maybe a spark along the way. Oh and a good map reader with an attractive smile and hairy arms wouldn’t go a miss!
