I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Halifax.

My Message: Hi.

I'm Dave and a relative novice. I walk for an hour or more each weekday and try to do more on Sundays - 4 hours in Bronte country a decent effort recently. I did also get to the top of The Old Man of Coniston last year. It hurt!

I'm seeking, ideally, female company age 40-50 who can encourage me, inspire me and support me in taking on ever increasing challenges. In return, I expect to do the same for you!

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Malvern.

My Message: As I've been on this great site for 3 years I thought an update was in order. I now spend December, January and February in Ribeira Brava, Madeira and the remaining 9 months here in Malvern; both splendid walking centres. Nevertheless, while in England I like to get away and over the last few years have walked the SWCP from Exmouth to Poole in dribs and drabs. Thinking of a new project this year, I saw on this site that Wales is split into fourteen mountainous regions. How about climbing the highest in each region? In a relaxed way, you understand, going away for a few days at a time. Investigation showed that I'd done many of them before so I decided on the third highest of each instead. Anyone fancy joining me? Oh, I'm planning to walk the Fisherman's Trail, along the Atlantic Coast in Portugal, probably in October, as well.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Middlewich.

My Message: Hi there!, I am a brand new member…... I am interested in starting to go walking but looking for companionship and someone to help me with map reading etc. I am of ok fitness, member of a gym etc and looking to make the most of my weekends and possibly weekdays walking. I would love to do Cheshire walks but also The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and The Peak District. I have just turned 50 a few weeks ago and still coming to terms with that … haha (i'm very young at heart and people say I don't look or act my age… not sure if thats a good thing or bad?!) I have a great sense of humour and love to banter.
Would be great to hear back from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Shrewsbury.

My Message: I am looking for a walking companion around the same age, male or female, to accompany me and my 2 border collies on a walk every now and then. My family and friends used to join me on walks, but they are all so busy it's hard to arrange a time when we are all free.
I don't enjoy really long walks, I prefer shorter walks with beautiful scenery or wildlife to look at on the way (or a nice pub at the end!)
I like discovering new and interesting walks. That's not to say I never visit the same place twice, but where possible I will find an alternative route around, to make the same walk slightly different.
I run a dog training centre near Shrewsbury which keeps me busy most days, especially at weekends. However I don't work full-time hours and usually have time off during the week. This is when I am more likely to be free for walks.
I sometimes go away for training seminars, so could potentially walk in other areas of the country if it fits in with one of my trips.
In a walking companion I am looking for an honest (but not boring), kind, optimistic person who enjoys life (in moderation), can hold their own in a conversation and can have a laugh.
If this is too much to ask then a mixture of the above would also be good!
Thanks for reading

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loughborough.

My Message: I'm looking for friends who enjoys walking and the great outdoors to join me on my adventures.

I walk between 6 and 10 miles most weekends, with shorter walks during the week.

I live in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, which has some beautiful countryside. I also enjoy walking in Wales and the Peak District, the Lakes District, Cornwall and Scotland. I also enjoy camping, bodyboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities. I work full time during the week, but I'm willing to travel reasonable distance for weekend walks (North Wales, Peak District, etc), and further for weekends away/holidays/etc. I like to travel, so walking holidays abroad are also a possibility.

If you're interested in meeting up then please get in touch. Nick.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Manchester.

My Message: Hello. I was prompted to join this site as I went for a great walk yesterday in beautiful spring sunshine - it was a new walk to me (about 20km) and the first long one since last year so I'm feeling the effects today, but I would really liked to have had someone to share it with! Keen to do it again but ideally not alone. I walk alone, with friends, my children, whatever, but a long walk with another person is different so I'd like to meet some like-minded walking companions. I'm pretty fit, have walked a lot in Scotland, but live in Manchester so tend to go to Snowdonia, Lakes, Peaks, can read maps (used Viewranger yesterday on my phone, but ran out of charge half way, damn and blast it. Bloody tech - obviously nothing to do with the operator) and can converse on a wide range of topics, sometimes even intelligently. Do get in touch if you'd like to walk sometime.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Huddersfield.

My Message: .
Hello, I live in Huddersfield near the lovely walking areas of Marsden Moor and Holmfirth. I enjoy gentle strolls in scenic countryside (and also coastal paths whenever possible) and prefer to combine walks with points of interest such as reservoirs, canals, historic buildings and country pubs. I am single and hoping to meet a man of similar age who also enjoys shortish walks for companionship. As I am currently still working full time my walks have to take place on weekends and holidays. I dont have an up to date photo but I am average height, slim build and have silvery hair and brown eyes. Thanks for reading this!

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Holmfirth.

My Message: Hi my name is Alison and I live in a beautiful part of West Yorkshire.

I love walking and am a member of a few walking groups but miss the individuality of a walking partner to share the 'oos and ahhhhs' when you see something special. Tranquility of a special place, view, peace and sunset too.

I also enjoy visiting historical places of interest, theatre, ballet to name but a few. I have a lot of friends but many are busy with family at weekends and now with my two daughters at uni have more time to spare.

If you are interested on joining me on a walk, or if I could join you on a walk you are planning, I would love to hear from you.

Alison x

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Coventry.

My Message: Hello my name is Mike and I live in Coventry. I am a keen walker and have walked over most parts of Warwickshire, NW Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire. My map reading skills are very sound.
I keep myself reasonably fit, by walking locally, but also playing racquet ball, three times a week.
It would be good to meet a liked minded woman, who lives fairly locally and likes walking in the countryside, who enjoys taking in the scenery, the wildlife and having a good chat and a laugh along the way.
I have a couple of mornings free during the week, which means that I am available to go walking locally during the week as well as at the weekends, for both local walks and walks further a field.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Grantham.

My Message: My name is Mike and I have recently moved to the Grantham area. I enjoy walking and cycling but have no established circle of friends locally to add to the enjoyment and help with motivation. I am fairly fit and have done two 26 mile challenge walks in the past year, but very little else. A little more variety in distance would be very welcome, just doing the occasional long distance is pushing it a bit! I am semi-retired and am available on some weekdays. I have transport and distance is not a problem. I can map read pretty well. I look forward to hearing from anyone who, like me, would like to go walking more often than they do at the moment.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Huddersfield.

My Message: Hi- my name is Anne and I 'm looking to find new walking friends- male or female- who are interested in exploring different areas of the countryside and maybe also visiting historical houses, national trust properties and the local hostelries and cafes. I now have a lot more time in the week as well as weekends so want to use this to do more walking and exploring. I am sociable, friendly, like having fun and make friends easily but lots of my friends are still working full time - don't want you to think I am billy no mates! If you are interested in joining me on a walk let me know or if I could join you on a walk you are planning on going on that would be great. I'm happy to travel a couple of hours by car or train.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Keighley.

My Message: Hi. I'm a keen walker, with a very friendly and even more enthusiastic springer spaniel companion. Having just taken early retirement I'm looking for new friend(s), male or female, to walk with at anytime but especially during the week. Whilst I love blue skies and balmy weather, I'm happy to walk in pretty much anything Mother Nature cares to throw at us ! And fantastic though a well earned hot drink from a thermos at the top of a hill is, I also enjoy the prospect of a coffee in a cafe or even a pub meal at the end. I have a car and whilst I am particularly fond of the Yorkshire Dales, I'd be happy to travel to explore new areas, especially with a new friend as a guide. Thanks for reading and please get in touch. Bev.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near London.

My Message: Hi I am 56 and live in London. I am looking for occasional walking companions mainly during the week (so suit self-employed and the like) to do 10 (ish) mile walks within easy reach of London. I would also be interested in further afield walks if they were over 2/3 days. I'm happy to wild camp but can also do B&B's. I am fairly fit (did the Coast to Coast a couple of years ago with my then 21 year old son) and play tennis regularly but am not looking for a route march. I don't mind arduous but it's more about communing with nature than any competitive streak. If interested please get in touch. Mark
