I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Birkdale hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like to get out in the hills as often as possible but I don't go bagging Munros just to get back and tick it off a list.
I go to enjoy the beauty of our country and take my time and breath in fresh air.
I love Caledonia, the north west highlands to me are the most beautiful place on planet earth and I've traveled extensively.
I don't go climbing or in the snow and ice anymore as I have done in the past.
I don't mind it being cold and fresh though. I always go into the mountains fully prepared, map, compass, waterproofs etc. Just common sense things because anything can happen at any time.
I have done a lot of walking in Scotland but also enjoy the lakes, and the dales etc, doesn't have to be a long or high up walk, pleasurable and fun is what it's all about to me.
Would like to meet others to enjoy a good time out and about, not just on high peaks, any walk can be a good one, it's what you make of it. Finding a nice pub at the end is a bonus too.
I'm going up to the north west highlands from 15th June for two weeks and going to tackle Slioch, An Teallach, Stac Pollaidh, Suilven amongst others. Cape Wrath too.
Before that I hope to be up in the lakes most weekends depending on the weather.

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm in my early 60's, reasonably fit and active, I play squash and go running a couple of times a week.I love my job as a nurse/counsellor and when I have free time I like to be outdoors. I'm as happy on long walks as I am climbing a mountain,or on the coastline. I'm not competitive these days but still want to feel a sense of achievement and stretch myself.I've explored many areas in the UK. Last year I did the Welsh 3 peaks ( over several days) with my daughter. A couple of years ago I discovered Bulgaria with some friends and am going back this year to do some walks in the Piril range.I'm looking to meet new people,for new experiences, good conversation,fun and friendship.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Crewe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Greetings fellow walkers *waves*
I got into walking proper about 6 years ago and never looked back! I generally walk at the weekends unless I have time off work, when I'll fit in walks more frequently, and prefer the less well known walks, loving paths that aren't so obvious on the ground.
I go to the gym a couple of times a week and I'm pretty fit so I like a nicely paced walk but also stop to look back frequently (amazing how many people miss fantastic views by not doing this) and to take photographs … I like to blog about my walks if I find them particularly interesting. Not sure many people read the blog but I find it fun to do.
I walked the Sandstone Trail a couple of years ago … 3 days walking with a couple of sleep overs at pubs. That was fun and I'd like to do similar again, probably on sections of the Coast to Coast or the Welsh Coastal Path for starters.
I visit Wales and Cumbria at least once a year so plan walks for when I go. My most walked areas are the Snowdonia National Park, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. Cheshire also has some nice walks and it's not quite as flat as people would have you believe!
Be warned, I do like to chat and I have a dry sense of humour … so I will either be fun to walk with or seriously annoying depending on your outlook!
Safe walking everybody.

P.S. For the avoidance of confusion seeing as I'm looking for male & female walking companions but open for relationships should the circumstances arise, I am heterosexual so sorry guys!

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Midlands hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Being sat at a desk most days I'm keen to get outside and enjoy the amazing scenery we have in our beautiful country. Initially day walks to improve my fitness. I work part time and do have a day off midweek so would love to get out enjoy the company of others whilst walking.
Based in the East Midlands mid week walks ideally would be within an hours drive. Weekends further a field.
Years ago used to walk with a group but it became too big for my liking.
I love being outdoors, there's nothing better that a lovely long walk and a meal afterwards. Appreciated all the more in the current Covid climate!
As my fitness improves (It's not bad but plenty of room for improvement)I love to bag a few peaks.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am a single Mum from Chester who has recently got into walking and exploring the local Cheshire countryside every weekend and I'm looking to find new walks to try and people to share them with. I love nature, my favourite place being the beach and the occasional wild swim if allowed. Happy to travel a bit further afield, and happy to camp. I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Lincolnshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking, everything about it. What could be better than sitting down with a glass of wine and planning a walk.
Then there's the excitement of arriving at your walks starting point (usually a pub car park if it's a circular walk)
The anticipation as you lace up your boots and the adrenaline rush as you set off on your way. The endorphins kick in, you get warm, remove a layer ( i can never work out exactly the right clothes to walk in )
The scenery is beautiful, you catch a glimpse of a deer, a buzzard, a moth or a cowslip.
I often get lost ( Its not getting lost, its going on an adventure) i usually get muddy and sometimes i fall over.
Then there's the relief as your sore feet sense the end of the walk. A nice pint and a pack of crisps or nuts, maybe a meal by a fire.
These are all wonderful things, but so much more when shared with a like minded friend.

My Message: Hi, I am looking for new friends to explore the UK with, as I've exhausted(literally !!) my current friends, many of whom prefer short walks. During this corona lockdown I've averaged 30 miles a week - better than baking any day. My job is cabin crew, often I have 3 days off during the week with the occasional weekend. I especially love coastal walks, but am good with any terrain, just happy to be walking. I'd like to do more multi day hikes, no problem camping or staying in BnBs. I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Plymouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker living in the South West, whilst I am comfortable walking alone, it get's boring and would love to have someone to share the experience with. Mainly I walk in the South West area, but love the mountains when I can get away. I also regularly go on Trekking holidays abroad and have done three treks in Nepal over the last 5 years (Everest Base Camp, Annapurna, and Kanchenjunga base camp). However, I am more than happy with a gentle stroll across Dartmoor as well. I am recently retired and looking forward to ticking off some 'bucketlist' walks. England Coast to Coast, South West Coast Path to name a couple in the UK, but also would love to do the Camino De Santiago. When not out walking I am a keen theatre goer and also an amateur actor. Also have a love of music.
I'm flexible when and where I can walk and have a bit of an adventurous streak so am generally up for a bit of a challenge. What I'm missing is having people to share walking with. I know there are people out there, just haven't found them yet!

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Mountain Biking

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Derbyshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Always up for a wonder around the Peak District. Love drawing a circle on a map and seeing what happens - often find the car the same day ;) Quite willing to drive further afield for new hills. Hope to find someone up for the same shenanigans!

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Rothwell hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm a 47 year old male looking for a walking buddy. I've always liked the outdoors but only really started walking in December 2013 after voulenteering to take on the Yorkshire three peaks, I have been walking almost every weekend since. I Live in Rothwell just east of Leeds and walk mainly in the Peak District but will go just about anywhere. My map reading skills are improving, I use GPS which I find works well for me so far.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Frimley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a Female Walker, 50, based near Chester, but working near London. My walking friend and partner has passed away and I am hoping to meet either Male and Female new friend (s) to go walking with. When weather is bad on the hills, the alternative coastal walks combined with occasional bird watching (Norfolk, North Devon, Pembrokshire,…) is also an option.
I'm looking for walks about 6 to 9 hours per day, all year round. I've climbed Mont Blanc and Matterhorn in the past, so happy with any terrain. I am now too old and wise to still enjoy walking in fog and howling winds though. I like remote mountain walks and moorland walks and don't enjoy walking with crowds.
I can read maps but not enough practice for finding my way out with GPS or compass/map in fog.
I can drive but as I work in the south of England, I've been lucky that so far to have a friend who could pick me up from a train station near the walks location (Chester, Penrith, Kendal, York,…) and drive me to the walks and hotels.
I would not be walking with someone with a dog, or a party of more than 3, as it scares the wild-life which is a collateral interest of the walks. Age not a problem, I have a variety of interests and most importantly I am a good listener & interested in other peoples' interests as I enjoy learning.I am easy to get on with and certainly not into 'competetive' walking. I just love to get out and enjoy the view.
I don't expect or want to walk at the same pace as my companion, as I enjoy the solitary aspect of the walks, but to keep in the visual range but have stops and breaks together.

I stay in hotels, pub and B&B to enjoy the rest after the walk. I'd love to have again a companion again with whom I can a general culture conversation.
I'm working, so can rarely do more than Friday lunch time until Sunday evening. I need at least 3 week notice to book the week end and I'm happy to decide in the last days where to go depending on the weather.

Important: For the avoidance of doubt, I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Walker, in my early 20s, based near Bury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello,
I am interested in meeting male or female friends to go walking with, especially now the warmer weather is approaching (provided that this lockdown eventually ends). I am based in Lancashire however I can drive and have a car so I am willing to go further afield. I am a bit out of practise with walking very long distances as my friends are not the hiking-types so I've struggled to find people to go with me in the past. However, I would really like to challenge myself and I hope to meet like minded people. I have a springer spaniel who would be joining me.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Bamford hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love living and working in the Peak District and have walked a fair
Few routes over the years. I have the most appalling sense of direction but I am
happy to follow someone who can actually read an OS map. I love walking and also swimming but exercise has taken a back seat for a while for all sorts of reasons. I also love having a good matter and a laugh. I am available most weekends and I could make Wednesday afternoons if it fits in with other walkers. I have travelled reasonably extensively and in my younger days climbed in various parts of the world. I would like 2020 to be the start of a new chapter in my life and would really enjoy some company and direction on walks!!! Looking forward to hearing from you soon
